Actually for both Ford and GM the A-10 is having a small roll out at first then production will be ramped up. The 8 speed automatic was done the same way, in the trucks it was only attached to the 6.2L V-8 engine however you can now get it mated to the 5.3L V-8 engine in some cases. GM states that 8 vehicles will have it by 2018, with the Mustang getting the 10 speed for all models in 2018 I would expect GM to follow up with a similar move.

Missing will be the Recaro seats, but they can be ordered from parts albeit at a higher premium. The stock seat side bolsters just aren't aggressive/narrow enough for me.
Would you like to buy my recaro 2017 1LE seats?

They will be brand new ( car being built this week)

PM me if interested

A10 will likely filter into the C7Z first (and/or whatever ZR1 variant, and Zora/MR variant too), and then a year or so later I'd bet you see it in the Camaro Z28, C7GS, CTSV, and Denali/Caddy trucks... Another year after that the base C7, Camaro SS/1LE models, ATS/V line and the lesser V8 trucks.

There was an article I remember reading saying GM planned on putting that A10 in TEN different GM models sometime in the future, and the ZL1 was just the first of them.
Apparently it doesn't fit in the C7 transmission torque tube... perhaps they will redesign it...

A 1le should not have an auto. Imho although faster it's just not the same car in an auto. When I bought my ss I never for a second remotely considered an auto. I bought this car for the fun factor, A8/10 that goes out the window (why I sold my 672 hp cts v wagon). Too boring although fast af.

please don't even bring up this subject. We should all praise that there is one of few cars on the market only available in a manual. It is a dying breed and its sad as hell. You want an auto? good go get a touring type of sports car. Unless those .05 seconds (exaggerated) really matter to you, which they don't, go get an automatic. This is a raw track car, why in the hell would anyone say they wish it was an automatic. Good, keep most of the market's hands off this gem of a car cause they can't drive manual, or most are way too lazy. If you say that its because of traffic, your just lazy plain and simple. Plus I don't buy that because this is a sports/track car, why would you be sitting in hours of traffic with it everyday to make the automatic a valid choice.

Sad where the car industry is headed. I remember growing up being obsessed with a Ferrari or Lamborghini with the gated silver shifter. My friend's dad had a 350 Spider with it. The coolest thing in the world. That's even gone. And if you want a similar experience a few years down the road, getting a manual porsche will be scarce, highly sought after, therefore very expensive.

That's the main reason you wont see many 1LE's. It isn't because the market doesn't know much about it...its because of the manual and I praise the hell out of that. I don't know, it just doesn't make sense in my head. Why get an engaging sports/track car, and get it an automatic. You just countered the whole aspect of the engaging sports car part. Now you put it in drive, and 98% percent of the time driving, your gradually accelerating next the prius' on the road. Oh wait, your not really doing that. That's because your stuck in hours of traffic yeah?

I used to feel that way about manuals too but fell in love with paddle shifting on my GTI with DSG. You have the option of shifting with paddles or drop it into auto S drive and it will out drag any manual. Plus I have a weak left leg following knee replacement and clutching with it throws off my back because of the weakness.

I couldn't sum it up any better myself. I'm only 31 but for Christ sakes can't believe where the auto industry is headed with supposed fun cars. I live in Houston (home of shitty traffic) and would never consider an auto and my manual car is modded. No excuse

I prefer traffic with a manual. I have a.d.d and traffic is way too boring. Keep in mind i live on long island/nyc. I commute to queens and nyc everyday and sit in an hour of the worst traffic imaginable. And any nice day i get, i take my camaro cause its ten times more enjoyable than an auto in traffic. Keeps me alert, keeps me focused and i have fun. I think your a less of a rest rear ending someone. Becuase your looking two, three cars ahead of you to make your shifting as efficient as possible.

Besides my auto 4runner (i wish it was a 5 speed!), every car ive owned were all manuals and I will never deviate from that. So many cars that i like and want to own, are crossed off my list because they are only auto's. For example the lexus rc-f.

Please don't compare your paddle shifters or "manual mode" like driving stick or like shifting your own gears. thats not directed to the DSG gti, but people in general

I was so close to getting a ZL1 and when I initially was talking about the order I knew the 10 speed tranny was all the rage and initially went that route... then after much thought (before I ended up buying the 1LE) I was going to change back to a manual for the reasons mentioned above, fun factor. Are those few advertised tenths of seconds worth the loss of the driving factor? I say "naaaa"

nothing like revving it up and snapping into the next gear. With the sound the engine makes on deceleration. and the jerk you get. You experience the power better. I'm sorry but when i hear a car accelerate and i hear the quick shifts from the fast auto's....it just doesn't sound right. But when you hear the guy banging gears with that sound...its intoxicating

And to all the people who say the auto whoops in a drag scenario. I agree...yeah its faster. But how much fun is it just putting your foot down until your done. you turn out the same exact times every time. There's no room for improvement..not much practice needed...no mastering of any skills. I'm sorry but for a drag car i vote manual as well. More skill involved, more engaging and more satisfying. It doesn't get old.

They can offer an automatic if they want to, but IMO it doesn't fit the image of the car. It is a track car, not drag car, one meant to have driver involvement...I will stick with the manual. No pun intended...

I agree with all the things listed above. I wouldn't buy an auto (or v4 or v6) and love the 1LE and what it stands for. No sun roofs, ac seats, change light color etc. It's all about getting things done and that's awesome. But props to a 75 year old with knee replacement and still wanting a bad ass car. That's pretty damn cool in my book!
