Rubber baseboard from Lowe's or Home Depot. The one I got was like $2 and was large enough for two covers. I measured and cut so it tucks in between the glass and dashboard and blows air back towards the cabin.

Maybe you do that if you're dirt poor driving a 1984 Pontiac 1000 that's a rotted out pile of garbage. But not on a brand new car, especially one under warranty.

You fix it RIGHT by fixing the problem!! Replacing the faulty part inside the damper. There's no such thing as a "simple fix" on anything for me. It's always done right.

Sheesh.
yeah, good luck getting the dealer to see it your way. reply back here with how it went

To the OP, I guarantee that they won't fix anything for you. Trust me, I lost 6+ weeks of my car over this, GM confirmed that, yes, air does leak out of the defrost vents, but it is working as intended and they will not do anything to fix this as they believe there isn't a problem.

To others, sorry that our "hillbilly hack" doesn't cut it for some, but guess what? I'm not going to be the moron driving around with my windshield completely fogged up because GM messed up and didn't test these cars in areas with high dew points. If they won't fess up and fix it, I'm going to fix it so I don't get into an effing accident. And guess what? It blends into the dash and you don't even notice it unless you point it out to people.

I hate this problem as much as anyone else here, and am pissed that GM refuses to admit this is an issue, but I'd rather come up with my own fix than get into an accident just to prove a point.

hmmm, sounds like moulding them out of black plastic to fit and blend with the dash would be a great buisness opportunity for some vendor, right?

Hillbilly fix

Sure go ahead and get the dealer "fix", they only have to remove your windshield and dig into the vent. The dealer probably doesn't do windshield work to often so good luck with the headliner fitting and all of your electronics working after the "repair". I'll happily be running my fingers through my cool looking mullet and singing hee hee hee haw haw as I look out my fog-less windshield.

What has the windshield R&R to do with the headliner and the electronics? Neither will be touched by removing the glass.

Wouldn't a couple empty beer cans layed on their side solve 90% of this problem?

Defost block

I traced the outline of the defroster vent and overlaid it on a piece of 1/8" thick rubber. The rubber I used was the rubber step covering from Girots Garage and cost $22. I used that because it matches the dash. I then cut it out about 1 1/2" to block about half of the vent and used 3m molding tape across the back (closest facing the driver) so that the rubber can lift toward the windshield when I do want to defrost the front windshield and keep it in place. Works great and looks good. I would never let them tear into the dash to fix the issue. Too much to go wrong.

Rainx anti fog spray works wonders. I've had this issue A LOT in my truck, used rainx anti fog spray and fixed it. My camaro never had this issue so I never had to use the spray. Give it a try.

Engine heat from outside to the windshield + cold air from vents = fog on windshield. The spray should fix that but if it doesn't, I think what craigss50 did is amazing.

A bandaid at that...sad..:(..mine (17 1ss) does same on windshield

Just set your temp to 71 or above and you get little or none at all. No need for mouse pad covers and yanking your dash out.

Then you don't have the same problem we do... or live somewhere with less humidity.

Mine does it at 75-76 on full auto or with vents set to any setting or combination of settings (just face or floor and face for example). It doesn't matter.

Seriously, if you guys don't have the issue, you're lucky and not understanding what those of us with it have going on. No offense, just gets tiring hearing people say take it off defrost or turn up the temp.
