Nice car, 17CamaroZL1. I came close to getting a ZL1. In fact, there was a black/black one at Northshore Chevrolet (Covington, LA) that was on the showroom floor. Had everything I wanted.

But, then I found out that they don't do leases on ZL1s. So, that was a no-go for me.

BTW, concerning lease vs buy, I did a workup on the costs. If I assume a 12-year time frame, I would get 3 four-year leases, or 2 six-year purchases. Assuming a $5000 down-payment at the beginning of the leases or purchases, I end up saving almost $20,000 at the end of the 12-year period by leasing! And, furthermore, I would get to drive 3 new cars, instead of 2.

Lastly, I have a bit of a "modification addiction". I simply cannot keep from modifying a car that I own. My current 2008 G8GT has had engine, transmission, suspension, audio, interior, brakes, and cosmetic modifications. But, if I get a lease, I am keeping myself from going overboard on mods. Hopefully it'll work!

Sorry the ZL1 didn't work out for ya, but that'll be a sweet SS! I'm a little jealous over the seats you can get. I love the adrenaline red and the ceramic white you can put in those! I don't understand why there aren't options like those for the ZL1, but I still like what it comes with too, so I guess it'll do.

Hope your mod idea works. I definitely won't be doing anything that will void my warranty on the ZL1. Once the warranty is out, then I don't know what might happen.

I'd love to see some pics of your G8. I almost bought one of those when they came out. I had my 99 WS6 Trans Am at the time and didn't want to trade it. Thought about trading the wife's car for one, but she wanted an SUV, so of course, we went that route.

Have you tried using Chevy live chat on their website? I've gotten several of my updates from them. Maybe they can check on Canadian orders as well.

I'm only guessing, but I think we may be looking at getting our cars in early March.

Couple things - if you want to trade seats, let me know! I like the red that comes in mine, but I also like the ZL1 ones.

Lastly, you had a 99 WS6? I had a 2000 WS6! Began modding it the first day I bought it. I went from a 2000 Firebird convertible that I'd been autoxing. Decided that a 6-cyl convertible wasn't cutting it, so I bought the WS6 used in 2002. Still had a year left on warranty. After signing the papers, I had the dealership put both cars on racks in side-by-side bays and began swapping parts. Swapped over panhard rods, shocks, springs, and LCAs. That WS6 eventually went from this:

Very nice! Good looking G8! You weren't kidding about the modding were you! Your WS6 became a full on race car. I only replaced the cat back exhaust, almost right after I got mine. Put in a K&N filter, eliminated the skip shift, and did a couple of small free things like removing the ribs on the air box lid.

Exactly! All these status changes has kept me entertained up to this point. Now I have to wait a month before my production week is here.

Interesting - got a call today from my dealership. They told me that my code had changed to 3400 (I already knew, because Becky told me!). But, they also told me that my build date was 2/6.
