way cheaper to run
all german cars cost double to run..
i have owned maybe 30 cars in my life..not 1 german
mercs here fall to pieces within 6 years..seen many 70k dollar cars ridden with rust here..
keep your camaro and buy an old shiter to dd

if it's an auto u wait till something goes wrong with it..even bmw mechanics wont be able to fix it due to the over engineering.
my mate had an audi A8 go wrong on the autobox out or warranty...spent over 10k trying to fix the problems..in the end he almost gave the thing away..it went from a 100k car to a 3k car in just 9 years lol..97k straight down the garbage shute

I would own a BMW as long as there is an extended warranty along with it.

Have a BMW in the driveway. They are fine for a while but engineered to start having very expensive stupid failures around 70,000 miles. The things that fail are insanely difficult to access to repair, poorly designed bad ideas. A plastic electric water pump is just not a good idea. Repair cost is about two grand on average. BMW was pretty good back in the day, but the current cars are designed to trade in, because the the repair cost is often close to or more than the value of the car itself.

BMW = RUN away.

I was born in Germany and have all of my moms side of the family are Geman. We talk sometimes and they tell me that Audi is the best German built cars They say that the other two have become to mass produced and have become not as good as they used to be. They are born and raised German so I figured that they would know more about it than me

Man you dumb or something.... I love american v8s too, but you simply can't compete with Japanese cars in terms of reliability...their reputation speaks for itself

im thinking some of that has slipped lately,but still think they make some solid,reliable cars compared to BMW.the more high tech options you have,the more things to go wrong.my ex-honda del sol is still running well and looking good with 280,000 miles on it.engine has never been apart except for water pump and belts.son is driving it now.last week i replaced the proportioning valve and front caliphers/pads.it has been repainted and interior done in hot rod tweed 10 years ago.

I'd consider the reliability of a Lexus first. I've had a couple BMWs. Thank God for warranties. By the way, the "well balanced " X6 is useless as a road car and useless off-road. The Lexus SUVs are ugly, but I've never owned a more reliable car than the 97 Lexus I had.

That sound like some very grounded advice, if you want that German ride, a lease would be the best of both worlds, get the use at a lower cost and avoid the high maintenance costs..

I suggest a Cadillac srx performance awd they are very comfortable and fast also using the LLT my mom has one and it will never get stuck and it's fun to drive it'll blow any bmw away especially in the long run

Thank you!
For what it's worth OP, I'll be getting either a BMW 225xi or 228xi (both awd) soon as a daily driver. I think it's a decent choice. Some people may hate, but do what you think is best for your needs! German engineering isn't all bad
