I can't wait to hear what its like to gun it full blast! I wonder how much faster it feels due to the higher torque and HP

I love my Z, I have been breaking the rules some and made a few runs short shifting at 5k. Solid car

Damn you! Here I am having (half-choosing) to wait until the 2018s, but this is making it so much harder. :/

That's the result of a pretty flat torque curve with 650 lb/ft on tap!

Great review! Look forward to hearing more like it.

i have a question regarding throttle feel. alot of ss owners were saying that the throttle was dead at the top of the pedal. does the zl1 have this ?

To be clear, I have not pressed her yet but there is NOTHING dead about the throttle from my perspective.

Thanks for the write up. Keep them coming. I like to hear perspectives from gen5 ZL1 owners. Looking forward to hearing a track review. Also looking forward to driving one myself.

When you get close to one or get yours, just look at how intricate the air routing is on the front. Second, I love the look of the wheels but good god are they awful to clean. I must have spent 30 minutes just on the wheels. And if you are like me and like to get the caliber real good....well good luck with that as there is no place to get your hand through there to do it. I am going to be thinking long and hard on how to approach the wheels next time because this time sucked.
I detailed my car last Monday. I absolutely agree getting inside to clean the wheel barrels and calipers is going to be a bit of a challenge. I was able to get the barrels clean with the smallest wheel woolly from a three piece set. For the calipers, I used a trim and lug nut brush. Time wise, it took just about as long to clean these wheels as it did my 10 spoke black wheels on my 5th gen ZL1. What really saved me time is the rotors on the new ZL1 did not show any surface rust after getting wet. My 5th gen would take 2-3 drives after a wash before it stopped depostiing surface rust on the wheels. That was really frustrating and a big PITA.

I sure hope this lack of surface rust isn't a one time phenomena due to some coating on the rotors that will wear off over time. Not having to deal with surface rust will make it a whole lot easier to keep these wheels clean even if it is more difficult to clean the inside.

Some professional detailing shops, remove the wheels for proper cleaning and inspecting rotors and power wash under the car for dirt and stuff.

I think it's a good idea to do it every 6 months.

Thanks for the great review.
Can you compare the 5th Gen Recaro seats to the 6th Gen Recaro seats?
