Well, sort of...you'll see once you connect..go for a drive ...it does not project images other than your Google maps thru AA onto your 8" screen, it interacts the voice and warnings with AA/radio system while plugged in via USB. The phone screen still has the Waze map info and the data to report, but with it lowering the radio volume while reporting the incident is very convenient..we are all waiting for Google to integrate Waze into their Google Maps program...

I see what you're saying. You're just running 2 apps. Waze on the phone (in the background, basically voice/notifications only) while projecting GoogleMaps on AA. I thought Waze finally release the AA port. I'll continue to wait for the official release. You got me excited for a sec there. lol

Hmm, when I hook up phone (S5) via USB, I can run google maps through AA, but cannot run any other apps (the phone is basically locked out). How do you run Waze if you're in AA? I seem to be able to do one or the other, AA or waze, but not both.

when plugged in via USB, click the lower left button on your phone and it should show you the CLOSE ALL option? If it does, then while the CLOSE ALL option is showing, click the actual home button and it should take you to the phone's home screen for you to open any app. Let me know if that works but it does on my S7.

This was my main concern when migrating from apple to android - and I have to say I'm disapointed.

I have a May built Vert. It came with the A/A and seems to work as advertised but with limitations (only Google maps and a few other things I don't use). Waze does not appear on the screen tho there seems to be a way to get the sounds.

I have the Samsung S7.

It's probably a bigger benefit for those without the factory NAV. I have it and use it exclusively as it offers more features than Google maps (such as preloaded buildings, weather features, gas prices at stations, etc). I've turned off the app as it kept popping up every time I plugged in the USB.

As to getting your (qualified) phone to work with it, a must is using your Samsung USB cord (it actually is different than cheap ones).

that's the point. if you're phone isn't "mirroring" (native phone apps showing up on mylink) your android auto is not working.

I don't think android auto is meant to mirror your phones display. From what I understand it is supposed to bring some of the important apps to the user in a simple way. In my car android auto is doing what they're advertising... I'd love to be able to mirror or wirelessly cast my phones display to the car, but just because it can't I'm not gonna say its broken

Android auto is still pretty new and I'm sure with time updates are gonna come out and more features will be added.

yeah, the only thing AA does for me is give me google maps, but I have the factory nav, so I'm not really impressed. It does show me the one song I've bought in the google store for my daughter, but otherwise offers me nothing the car doesn't already have. Am I wrong, are there other advantages to AA that I am unaware?

If you get a text message while connected and using AA then you get a option on the instrument cluster to have it read to you. Also if you hold down the talk button on the steering wheel you can do the "okay google" feature. I like that to tell my phone to play a song or artist stored on the phone. S6 edge. Im new to the My Link so that's what I've found so far.

Good point... I didn't get the factory nav. If I did get it then I don't think Android Auto would have impressed me.

Only thing you would gain with AA is you have updated Google maps where your factory navigation doesn't get updated
