I measured both with a DB meter and they are the same at idle at least

for quiet startup you will need to go into the menus and set the exhaust to stealth. thats the way to get a quiet startup

Is it noticeably quieter?

I find that even if it starts in tour mode that if you have NPP that it still starts very, very loud and then after 10 seconds or so it quiets down. My neighbors have to hate me.

I have had people walking behind my car when it starts in Tour mode and it startled the crap out of them.

Definitely barks when you start it. That's why I leave my garage door down for a bit when I start it in the morning. I will experiment with the stealth setting.

The snow mode essentially puts the exhaust into stealth mode in which, unlike in tour mode, the exhaust valves stay closed even when the engine is revved.

Driving it quietly out of the neighborhood isn't really that difficult no matter which mode it's in IMHO. It's just the loud startup that I can't control. If NPP would allow you to close the valve for a quieter startup on those early mornings I would take advantage of it but since I can't, I pulled the NPP fuse weeks ago so my valve is open all the time.

You can control it, just go into Engine Sound Mgmt and change to Stealth. Closes the valves even on start up. Use it on those early morning.

If you want to change the startup noise and forgot the night before, just Press and Hold the start button with no pedals pressed and after about 5 seconds it will boot the car ignition on and able to change it before you startup.

As stated above, you need to hold the 'Engine Start Stop' button for about 5 seconds to access 'Accessory mode'. Then navigate to Snow/Ice Mode and turn on the car.

In regards to sounds with Tour vs. Snow/Ice mode...
Touring will "bark" at cold start, then the values close immediately after. If your driving, the valves stay closed until you pass 3k rpm and/or step on the accelerator pedal more then 50%.

Snow/Ice mode will keep the valves closed at all times.

On start up Touring will be loud for the first 2-3 seconds, then the values will close.

On start up with Snow/Ice mode (by accessing through Accessory Mode), valves will stay closed when you turn on the car (stealth mode).

can anyone confirm that Stealth mode is tied to Snow/Ice mode? I haven't seen that anywhere. that would be nice since going through the menus is not convenient.

also, if engine was shutdown while in Stealth (Snow/Ice?) mode -- will it keep the valves from opening overnight?
