I have the orifice installed right now and it did indeed eliminate the surging. (Mine was just barely noticeable surging.) I've monitored the boost curve to see if the orifice affected the response time and I see no real effect with the orifice in place. I suspect if you start pushing the SC above the canned tune, the boost response curve would be affected with the orifice in place. In the end, a custom tune is in order for me and this will be one of my items I'll want addressed.

As for your IAT code, I suggest you go do some IAT data logging with your SCT device (or other, such as Torque for Android) and report back. That code could mean that your IAT (TMAP)sensor is either not working properly or not plugged in all the way. You should be seeing roughly 100-125* F just cruising and around 160* F after a hard pull in a 85* F ambient air temp.

Another possibility is your intercooler isn't fully purged of air. (They are a bitch to purge properly.) Go to the appendix in the installation manual an follow the directions on purging the system. Took me about 5-6 cycles to get all of the air out.

BTW, I checked my TMAP sensor this weekend by letting the car get stone cold (2 days!), not starting it, and comparing the IAT (TMAP) sensor reading with coolant temp, ambient temp and IR readings off the manifold. They were all within 1*F of each other, so I now know that the TMAP is functioning correctly.

Definitely will try those things thanks for the advice.

What about the afr how fat is it at wide open.. and and did you fix the problem of feeling the timing thrown in on hard pulls.

I cant see how the purge would be a problem if it worked so good for 3 weeks then suddenly development this problem the fill neck hasn't moved levels or does that matter.

I would think some type of bleed screw on the highest point would solve some air purging. I have seen some online fittings to do this..

Go here to look at the AFRs on a pull; near the bottom of the first page.

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453749

As you can see, these are pretty good AFRs for a tailpipe measurement.

I've thought about adding a bleed screw on the exit hose, just off of the SC, since that would be the highest point, but not necessary. The intercooler purge of your system is just a check. Probably not your problem, but worth eliminating from your troubleshooting. I actually jacked up the front of the car and got about another 1-2 cups equivalent of air out of the system.

I've also discussed the IATs with Edelbrock and they confirmed that those numbers I gave you are close to what they also see on their test rig. However, I still think the IATs need to come down. I'll be playing with some ideas over time.

Along with the IATs pulling timing, I also think (don't know for sure) that Edelbrock tips in the timing fairly quickly on boost to add conservatism to their tune. Just one of the things that protects them, as well as us, on potential early failure. The canned tune needs to be based on near worst case gas, temp, usage, etc.
