Legal limit in MA is 35%, most windows these days come with 5-10% tint from factory. I told the tint place I wanted as close to legal without going over. Ended up with 50%, not ideal, but one less reason for a cop to pull me over. Though I did go with the nano-ceramic, uv and heat blocking tint. It does make a noticable difference in the interior heat on a hot day with windows up.

Makes sense. There's like 18 million people in the six southernmost counties. I think the list of what is tolerable goes up here by volume. People drive 85ish around here on the freeway when the traffic is light and that doesn't attract a lot of attention either. I think they've usually got bigger fish to fry.

I went with carbon ceramic 30 all around and Air 70 on the windshield. Quite satisfied with it. Too difficult to see out for me if it's darker.

Last vehicle had 5% and that was way too dark. Does anyone know what the stock tinting is?

The material they are made of. If your car's antennae for receiving signals from your air valves and cellular reception are inside the vehicle, metallic tint can interfere with your reception, that's why they came out with ceramic tint. I have metallic on mine and have had no issues. The dealer paid to have mine tinted so I really don't know what brand is on there. I just know ceramic is more expensive and I doubt they went the high dollar route.

I have 15% on my driver and passanger windows, 5% on the back, sides and brow. Regret not getting 5% all the way around though
