Mine does too. Has anyone had any luck getting this fixed? I've taken my car in a bunch of times but they seem to have an issue reproducing it. 2016 2SS A8. It happens to me daily but not until I have been driving for like 15-20 mins and I noticed the occurrence has increased as it has been warming up.

So far, pretty certain it is heat related, and I thought it was just the M6 but now we have A8 brothers in the mix.

It sounds petty but damn does it look ****ing ghetto. The car is SC now pushing 630whp+ (recently found out our tuner's dyno shows a bit low in comparison to some others) and when I let people drive they FREAK OUT the first time it happens thinking the gas pedal has gone haywire or they're actually jumping rpm high lol. I should film it. I sent a video of the issue, didn't get a response form service tech. Effing dealers...

Wtf

I'm now having the same issue. Nobody has a diagnosis from the dealer?

I recently took mine in and they could not reproduce it. This particular dealership took my video as proof and opened a ticket with GM. They recommended cleaning and reseating the grounds which was done but the issue is still happening for me. Interestingly now it doesn't freak out as much during decel but freaks out a little during idle.

As expected, more reported cases as the weather gets warmer...

No word from my service tech, but then again he didn't even acknowledge the video. One guy mentioned the entire cluster needing to be replaced. I sincerely don't trust the(any?) dealer to crack my dash open and put a new one in without destroying something in the interior and sparking a new nightmare.

If anyone has had this issue and had it fixed let us know. So far its isolated to just the tach.

Did anyone else's vehicle with this issue have a dealer installed aftermarket alarm installed?

Edit: Dealer(Earnhardt Chevrolet)/GM engineering suggested removing the alarm as it was installed into the BCM and so far I have not yet seen the issue. I will keep you guys updated after a weekend of driving. Hopefully this is a potential fix that works, if so I can share my ticket # for a reference.

As a side note... anyone in the AZ area avoid Freeway Chevrolet because they are one of the worst dealerships in the area from personal experience. A-hole service tech gave me lip when I came in for them to remove their aftermarket alarm because I told him that it might be a root cause for an issue I have been having. His arrogant response was "Oh did you read that on a forum somewhere *eye roll*", to which I shared my GM ticket # and he shut right the f**k up. Also... does anyone have android auto working? He claimed that "because my car has apple car play I am not able to get android auto installed" which sounds like misinformation.

Mine is doing the same thing!!

It is getting worse, noticed after a 6 hour drive through the mountains, happens mostly when I'm off the gas but still in gear.

See attached GIF.

mine has the same problem! I noticed it today at idle. m6 with arm turned on. it bounces around 2-5 rpm for no reason and the engine stays calm.

Alarm dc didn't work. I went back and they cleaned ALL the cpu grounds. I'll let you guys know if it pans out. Seems promising.

Alarm dc didn't work. Next attempt was they cleaned about 5 cpu grounds which also didn't do it but is what an upcoming service ticket will say to do. Currently the fix I am on now is they replaced the negative battery harness. Let's see how this one goes...
