I'm new to my '16 maro and while driving back from NC to FL through GA managed to get pulled over doing 108 on a 70 on a interstate highway 10 hours into a 12 hour drive. Didn't get a ticket but have been called to court.

I'm not necessarily looking for legal advice, I'm planning on showing up and pleading the situation to the judge and hoping for a light fine.

Does anyone have any words or thoughts?
Mistake one, getting caught going 108 in a 70. You have now compounded your bad decisions by looking for legit advice for a serious issue from the Camaro 6 forums. Bonus mistake, using "maro" apparently lol.

The first thing the Lawyer will tell you is to not call it a Maro! This is your first offense here and we are letting you off with a Stern Warning. DON'T CALL IT A MARO AGAIN!

I know I'm in the minority in America but our driving laws are so bass ackwards.

Its the year 2016 when even $15k Kias can handle, brake, and run reliably and safely at 120 mph. The 60-75 mph highway speed limits are pathetic. No highway in America should have a speed limit less than 80 mph

I completely agree with you. I think a lot of it has to be with how people drive here that keeps them from upping the speed limit even more. Look at the autobahn for example. Everyone only uses the left lane for passing and there is no "speed limit per say". I was on the interstate on my way home yesterday stuck behind a 100+ year old man in the left lane going 50 and constant stream of convoy trucks were in the right as we all passed him one at a time. As well as the people who merge onto the interstate at below 50 mph. More speed doesn't mean more accidents. Does it mean the wrecks that do happen will be more harmful? Most likely, but we should really look at our drivers here first.

I agree. The problem is even though cars have gotten better, people's driving skills haven't improved at the same rate.

There will be no "pleading" anything in your case, 38mph over the posted speed limit, triple digits... you're screwed. Best thing you can do is not be a dick to the judge, and be honest.

If you got caught in Georgia you're in for a long ride, They have the super speeders fine anything over 80. Got pulled for 111 in a 70 adel, ga. Paid $1000 to the court and $400 to my lawyer. They give out of state a harder time
