HOLY SH!T!! Where do they get off charging $1400 for a non dual mode axle back. Stainless Works full system with NPP is $1800 and you can get just mufflers for around $900.

Corsa Performance exhaust
Because Corsa. They're always super expensive, but they're second to none in quality. Borla is built like Flowmaster compared to them.

Are they planning to come out with a cat back system by any chance?

Corsa may be the best, but no dual mode option seems really dumb. Right now I'm leaning towards stainless works or if I feel like ponying up the dough, Borla.
But a somewhat reasonably priced Corsa NPP option would have my wallet open in a heartbeat..

I want NPP too. Definitely a must if I'm going to spend the money on a cat back or axle back.

Add that to the $1400 for this setup and your are talking $2,300 for a non-NPP setup.

SW quality is top notch as well. My flowmaster fell apart at the muffler welds on my truck after 100k miles including a lot of off road driving. That's still decent quality and it was $300.

I think everything these days is made rather well. It all comes down to what exact sound you prefer as they all sound slightly different.
Also the "no drone" guarantee from both Borla and Corsa is a big advantage. I don't think so, but does SW advertise that?

On sound alone, I'm leaning toward AFE's full NPP system. That thing sounds so good! I don't know if it's their mufflers, the tri-y long tubes, or a combination of them both. Sounds perfect IMO though.

I have talked to Borla about the cat-back systems on these cars and the issue they are running into are the valves that GM put on these cars. The NPP they were able to make work but the valves that are further up are causing the check engine light to come on. They are thinking about offering a few kits to either work with the factory set up or completely eliminate it, doing the second version would require a tune. I give GM great credit for making these cars perform the way that they do but they did not make it easy for aftermarket accessories such as the exhaust and headers. But only time will tell, SW did make their kits work with all the factory components so I would saying that it is just a matter of time before other work it out. |
