Going on 1000 miles after cat delete, no CELs...
I'm going to have to drive down that way and have the same guy do mine.

Glen is 100% correct. If the welder doesn't have a flexible welder, ei: the tip part doesn't angle down, no way they can weld the upper part.

So before you guys go ahead and delete your secondary cats, make sure you ask if the tool can move and have a downward angle

I just had my CEL come last night after about 300 miles or so after I installed a cat-back. Called onstar right away and she told me that it was an emission leak. I think I know what I did and will look at it today.

Im throwing my hat into the ring with P2099 too. Except I have no cat back. Car is almost all bone stock except for a CAI CAI. It came on after accelerating a bit to get on the highway this afternoon. I came home and read the code and cleared it. Well see if it pops.up again this week. I had the intake on the car for 3 weeks now. This is the first code it threw.

Did you use brand new gaskets with it? A cat-back, you wouldn't have touched the o2 sensors but check if they got loose.

Did you remove the secondary cats as well or is CAI intake THE only "mod" you have?

I didn't even see an existing gasket. I bought gasket maker, but didn't use it because figured it would be ok until I got my headers. I made an appointment to get one of my free oil changes and ask the dealership t check it for me.

I probably would've used the gasket marker since there is no real gasket (thank you, I assumed there was. I didn't take off anything to know).

The CAI is the only mod on the car. Exhaust is 100% stock NPP. No tune. Nothing.

Did you make sure to install the CAI correctly? All 3 dimples/marks have to line up. p2099 takes some time to kick on because IIRC it is a long term fuel trim code.

Son of a bitch....That must if moved on me then tightening it down and lining up the maf tube.

Moving it now.....

I don't understand why this important though. I can get my head around the maf sensor angle. But the filter? I mean.its round... all sides are equal.

I'm not really sure...they are adamant about it being perfect or it may hurt performance.

Hopefully that takes care of the issue.
