Try driving in a C7. Now those seats suck, unless you are a stick!

I too found the 2016 Camaro seats way too narrow. The 2SS leather seats kill my thigh. The 1SS seats are slightly more flexible. I am 6 ft 220 and the seats in my 1997 Z28 have bolsters that are low and comfortable. Chevy needs to get their act together on this. The Gen 6 cars are wider than my 97 Z28 so there should be room for a wider seat. I also sat in a 2016 Vette and you have to be a stick. Those seats suck too.

Now I know it's not just me, or that I somehow ended up with an oddball drivers seat. I started noticing the pressure from the left seat bolster against my left outer thigh soon after I picked it up. I don't recall feeling it on test drives though. Been wondering what the deal is ever since I got my car. I'm 5'7"/175, and average build. It's distracting to say the least. I'm hoping it will break in some and I'll have to play with different seat positions to see if that helps. Glad I found this thread and that it's not my imagination.

Good hearing from another 50th owner Homer! I'm coming up on 1200 miles. Sounds like break in will eventually happen.

I have it too. If it makes you feel any better, its about 4x worse on the c7. You will get used to it though. Try changing the angle of the bottom section to be more level.

The seats are an improvement in both comfort and support to the 5th gen seats...10 hours straight, and I was perfectly comfortable. (Can't say that about my current Recaros...) |

Haven't noticed this on my 2SS or loaner 1LT, My old 370Z had this problem though to the point it was bruising my thigh. I just put a bunch of force on the bar to try and bend it, And readjusted the seat so I wouldn't be putting my fat on it.
I do wish the Camaro seats had just slightly more aggressive bolstering (Not as aggressive as the 370z's but just a little more) and adjustable lumbar support though. |

I wonder if the reason some are having problems with the left side bolstering on the legs is because the seats may not be perfectly centered with the steering wheel and pedals? I have no way of telling, but just a thought... I know that's what BMW did with the M2

I daily mine and the only issue I've had was my right knee smacking the hard plastic around the console when cornering in the twisties. Otherwise I've done multiple long distance trips and I drive a half hour each way to work every day with no other complaints. I'm 6ft, 195lbs myself.
I find it a lot more comfortable than my old 2013.

Alright, here's one for you guys. For those of you having this issue, do you use the dead pedal? My car is a 2SS auto and I feel like the dead pedal is not set in the ideal spot. For me, the ideal location for the dead pedal would be about 2 or 3 inches towards the passenger side, ie. it is most comfortable for me if just the edge of my foot is on the pedal. With my full foot on the pedal, I find it to be slightly uncomfortable. Perhaps this is contributing to your bolster complaints?

Found the seat angle of the bottom cushion uncomfortable in my 5th Gen, and the seat back a little too narrow in the 6th Gen convertible I test drove.
My thought- I'm not going to be driving the car to California . I'm old and busted up. I'm happy to drive either one. |

I find my seats very comfortable. I do have the lower part tilted in the direction that makes me angle backwards, sort of like I am about to blast off in a rocket. If you take the automatic seat and use the rear part of the vertical control and push it down it will "sink" the back part down which raises the thighs up in the air and sort of tilts you backwards. I'm not sure I explained it right but I had to do this and once I hit the sweet spot they are super comfy.
