putting it into the wrong gear and letting out the clutch aka mechanical over-rev is possible lift or no lift.

Right, which is why I included the phrase "on a no lift shit" implying that this was a 1/4 mile run. Anyone can **** up a car by trying to stick it in 1st at 80mph. Also, if you're trying to no lift shift while accelerating and you don't stick the gear immediately and you get that wonderful grinding noise, you've probably had enough sense by now to let off the throttle. If not, then I hope you have deep pockets....

also many of us from the glory days of driving 833 new process mopar 4 speeds learned to rotate our hand on the shifter so the palm slightly faces the passenger side on the 3rd to 4th and the 2nd to third shift this helps direct the shifter into the gate. Now Chevy guys and the Muncie a golden trans, or the BWarner T-10 a good trans.
the current 6th gen trans for it size is great, still nothing and I've driven so Porches, nothing I have ever driven shifts as well or as fast as the Integra Type R trans at 9500 RPM, twin carbo sycncro / poly bushings. Not even the newer cable trans with derlin bushings. S2000 close better feel but slower.

To be honest, there is no need on this car. Considering that we are N/A, ther is no point unless you're going to boost. The entire point of no lift shift is to HOLD boost between shifts to go even faster. Do it in this car and it PROBABLY won't hurt anything if you do it correctly, but you won't be any faster than if you just row the gears normally racing. There is a reason why the ZL1 is able to do it from factory, it was in the owners manual, and was in all the videos when it came out 2012. I don't see a single shred of documentation of flat foot shifting / no lift shifting / f&^%ing up your tranny for gen 6 SS. :/

Unless I am missing something, the OP is talking about a feature cars like the Cobalt SS T/C had where you could keep the gas pedal floored while shifting the car and the ECU would automatically set the RPM for the next gear.
He's simply asking if the Camaro has this feature, not if it is safe to shift without letting up on the gas without this feature. Or you guys saying even with that feature, it would still grenade the transmission/engine? |

I wonder if anyone has experience tuning this into the 6gen SS... Would be great for the FI modded guys
![]() Holy crap, it seems like no one is in agreement about whether the SS has No Lift Shift feature or not....... Last edited by exxit; 02-21-2017 at 11:00 PM. |
