Sports cars are not usually practical at all. Don't feel bad I couldn't even get a microwave in my 350Z one day could install something to have some light back there if needed.
People wanted shaved weight and looks like they did it everywhere they could. I dont have any kids but if I did I would get something like a CTS -V sedan more practical even though a dome light would be nice probly shaved a few ounces to not install one. Lol

I usually don't adjust the seat but every time I take it to the dealership for some reason they have to. Or when I clean the car which is Weekly. I was being more of a smart allict then serious on the dome light weight savings.

My 14 Infiniti Q60S despite all it's "Luxury" and more usable back seat also did not have a dome light... Not just a cheap GM thing... Funny I didn't even realize it at all during ownership till I got on this forum before trading it in.

Interesting 14 Camaro doesn't have it and same with Infiniti. Just don't see why not. Realistically if this was an option like cigarett lighter I paid for my RSX I think $20 option when I use to smoke I would have paid for small light. My cheap $3 flash light is working and that ZL1 rope light looks like a good alternative as well but ugly.
Actually got the Camaro for myself and have a Toyota Sienna for the kids and motorcycle for nice days so I realize back seat is very limited use. Only other two door I had was an RSX but it had a doom light and even one in the trunk. Back seat in RSX was about same as Camaro with little more leg room. Traded the Acura for 335i sedan for some practicality with kids but never used it because had the sienna at home so back to 2 door coupe for me. So realize everyone is different and I don't need practicality for my commuter car and although the bike is great there are lots of days where don't have enough time to deal with gear and other daily necessities. I just don't see point that we should not have a dome light because of practicality or should buy another car. Have you seen some of those pickups with folding out seats. Did they do that for insurance. Speaking of insurance Camaro is actually lot lower than my previous sedan and my agent told me even way lower than new Honda Civic like 30%. |

maybe people who can't drive are less likely to buy a camaro, so even though they have power, they're less likely to see claims against them.

My 20 year old 4th get has a dome light in the back, I too think this was a dumb oversight. My 6 year old gets mad at night b/c she has a hard time buckling. We usually use the iPhone flashlight or I can kinda aim some light from the front LED map lights with my hand. But I want to add that my 6 and 8 year old sit in the back all the time with small booster seats and never complain. Granted the longest rides are 30 min, so I don't know how'd they do on a longer trip.

I'm just glad they actually put a modern dome light in the 16. The dome light in my 2015 seemed like it came straight out of a 1965 VW Bug!
