How does a company let this happen to standard items? Is the demand high? Why are they so QUIET about any information regarding this and I'm reading about it on an internet forum from another dealer?

Wheels are likely China sourced so any extraordinary inclement weather on the Pacific Ocean may have had an affect. The Tremec manual transmission are likely Mexico sourced, so any unusual travel inhibiting weather between the Mexican border and the LGR Assembly Plant could also be similarly affected. I suspect it is transportation of those two that are forcing the constraints, not the part manufacturer.
I repeat, constraints cross vehicle lines and affect not just GM but Ford and the current version of Chrysler. They may even affect transplants but I don't know for sure. And yes I have in the past been affected by constraints waiting for whatever order I had back then to proceed to being built. It is frustrating to say the least. Laborsmith |
