If one can point the rear of the camaro facing the sun on a warm day, should be able to remove the dealer stickers and badges. We don't need no darn badges.
Even chevy de-badged a malibu in a recent advert.

To take any badge off, unflavored waxed dental floss does the trick perfectly. It will take the badge clean off the car without any remnants of the adhesive if the badge is new, and it will not mar your paint up.
1) Chemicals are fine. Your car comes in contact with chemicals all the time, trust me. The key is to avoid highly corrosive chemicals that can eat through clear coat. We're not suggesting that. Chill out.

2) Yeah, because unflavored dental floss works wonders compared to mint. All sarcasm aside, I've never seen somebody cleanly debadge a car without some residue. You'll have to shoot a video for us showing us how it's done.

I stop using floss a couple years ago, and went to to 20 pound fishing braid… The stuff will cut your fingers if you don't use gloves. but it goes right through it much better than floss.

And yeah, the right chemicals are fine.

Debadging 2016 SS with Goo Off

I always heard using a hair dryer to heat up and melt the adhesive was the ideal way. I never tried it, but it sounds reasonable.

I used goof off.

I just applied some to an old shirt scrap and rubbed the residue off. Worked perfectly.

I didn't notice any adverse problems on my bumper. Was also great removing the few remaining stickers from the glass and off the wheels.

What do I need to worry about? Corrosive to the clear coat?

Well 2 notes:

3M Auto Adhesive Remover will instantly destroy the paint on the front black grill.

It doesn't hurt the body paint though.

The SS emblem in front grill is also not just a sticker, but has little tabs thru which floss won't cut. Also, there's physically a square shape to support it as a bracket, non-symmetrical to the other side.

Didn't try removing the front bowtie because the grill is physically made around it.

The front bowtie will come off using a trim tool....I've done three of them now. It just pops off.

I think my generation might have missed this or I'm just slow, but why do people de-badge cars when they have the top trim level? To fool people driving shit boxes?

It has nothing to do with trying to hide anything or make the car something that it is not.. It has to do with a cleaner look ,where you don't have a plastic badge that is stuck on with tape, that doesn't look right on your car.

The new 16 has a great example, IMO:I think the red white and blue badge on the side looks good on a silver, white, blue or black car , but they look horrendous on a Garnet car like mine. So they came off within the first day. Also when you take badges off, it's much easier to detail the car, they don't rip up your foam pads, and the detail goes easier.

For me personally, the desire comes from liking the minimalist design stuff. I don't like any logos... anywhere. I like the clean look that comes from taking that stuff off.
