I have found that you have to let the car get to normal idle rpms before you start moving. I have noticed that he 7K-9K rpms is the right spot. Plus it is good practice to start the car and let it idle for i little bit before moving so oil gets to the top of the engine. It takes about a minute to let it calm down. If you can't start your car and wait one minute before pulling out then

Also we are talking about a car that has 455 lb-ft, a little bit of rpms goes a long way. When i am sitting in traffic on a level road, i will give it a little throttle to start moving but once moving i can let my foot off the throttle and my car will travel at 5 mph and not stall out.

I thought only the COPO could do that!

The Camaro has a higher idle when you first start it than a lot of cars I've owned. I can only guess as to the reasons but one has to do with the DI and not having the fuel coat the cold valves so they upped the RPMs. The other guess has to be with getting the cats up to temp faster which helps with emissions.

Just wait the five seconds before the moving.

Cold start/high rpm is understood. Our car was holding 1500-2k rpms without pushing the accelerator. Has happened multiple times with the car being ran for as little as 5 minutes or as long as an hour. We told it was not replicated, like the rear end noise, like the npp noise, options in the audio/system menu disappearing and reappearing etc.
