Is that "noise tube" what they use to pump in fake (or real?) exhaust sound into the cabin or is that done through a speaker? Someone mentioned that this will only be on cars without the V8.
I'm going to add a catch can the day my car is delivered regardless of what's there already. It's not going to do anything to solve the carbon build up problem, but it will certainly help keep things clean. It's crazy how far ahead of the Germans GM is when it comes to DI and carbon build up. |

The sound tube amplifies the (real) intake "sucking" sound from the intake tube to the interior. The 4 cylinder cars are the only ones to use a sound generator via the car's speakers (fake)

On the LT1 in the C7 the Elite Can I had (non Z51) was on Driver side fender area pretty close to the existing tubage. It really is a blend between keeping runs short and real estate for mounting in the C7 bay is tight ...on oil changes I would get 1/2-2/3 cup of blow by oil..... I cannot seriously count the post wars that go on still to this day over wether they help or are a urban myth designed by aftermarket to get you $$
hope this helps |

We pulled the OE TB off and there was already a TON of oil in the manifold. Additional help to eliminate more of the oil is still going to be a must on the LT1s.

Thanks for letting us know. I am not a bit surprised as I have the V6 LLT and have been using a catch can since Dec. 2010 and have saved over 70 ounces of burnt oil going back thru my intake and over my valves. What I find amazing is how so many were always arguing with us V6 guys for the past few years about how ridiculous owning a catch can is and that it is just a snake oil thing. Now that the new V8 LT1 is a DI engine many are whistling a different tune. I for one will have the catch can in hand before I take deliver of my 6th gen.

How does this supposed catch can work if it drains to the oil pan? Isn't the issue one of oil contamination and degradation, not just crap going into the intake?
