My guess....
1SS 0-60: 4.5 seconds 1/4 mile: 12.4-12.5 at 113/114 mph Lateral G's: 0.99-1.02 Braking distance 60-0 mph: 113-115 feet 2SS 0-60: 4.6 seconds 1/4 mile: 12.5-12.6 at 113/114 mph Lateral G's: 0.97-1.01 Braking distance 60-0 mph: 116-119 feet

I think your 60-0 braking is off. The 5th gen Camaro SS stops from 60 in a shorter distance than that. Even if they carried over the same brakes, there should be an improvement on this new car. Everything else, I more or less agree with.
Here's an interesting question. How big of a difference do you think the A8 will have on 0-60 and quarter mile times over the manual? |

Crap the Z/28 with like a $12K+ breaking system setup can't stop in under 103 feet.

I think just like the price 1/4 mile times will be a disappointment too

Lol, I must have missed something. How would it be possible for the 1/4 mile times to be disappointing in a Camaro that is both lighter AND more powerful? It's obviously gonna be an improvement over the 5th gen. By how much remains to be seen, but I'd bet anything it will be an improvement.

If the stock 5th gen is capable of doing 12.6 - 12.7 stock at its max potential and optimal conditions, I just don't see any logical reason why less weight, more power and superior torque curve, and an 8-speed can't shave AT LEAST 2 or three tenths off that. I don't know what the GM advertised 1/4 mile times are on the 5th gen SS, but I'm guessing they are 12.9 - 13 flat? So for this car I can see their advertised times as mid 12s at least, and in the hands of owners we will see low 12s....100%. The ONLY negative I can see, are the run flats on the SS, which likely have a stiffer sidewall which will equate to more difficult launches.

Agree, only I suspect lateral G's to be less spectacular than what you're guessing.

5th gen 1LE put out 0.98g on the skip pad. I'd expect the RFTs not to be as sticky but the car should be close in range if power is not the reason it is faster than a 1LE. I don't know it will exceed 1g though.
