Okay there seems to be a bit of confusion

When I say the SS topped out at $41k, I meant the 2SS was going to be 41k.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it will run AT LEAST that much. Inflation alone, not even including all of the premium materials and other costs associated with the new generation..

I dont see this car being much farther away from a Vette. It has everything. It is what we asked for. We basically asked for a Vette with a back seat. I love it and i will probably trade my 5th on a 2017 or 18 if i cant swing a 16.

I think prices are going up but probably not by a lot compared to the '15's. They have to remain in that price zone to be competitive with ford and dodge. but in the end i guess all we can really do is wait to see.

Fully optioned and performance package.....anywhere "near" 45K????

You are going to be pissed. Hell....go to Chevy's website. For fun I priced out a 1SS with nothing but auto transmission, RS, upgraded stereo and the price was pushing 39K.

New gen is likely going to tack on some more $$$ for the same package. Now your talking fully loaded and a performance package to boot. That's 43 - 45 K easy.

You got a hell of a deal then.

I paid MSRP for my 1LT. 29K and some change. No 2SS was even close to that price at MSRP.

Yep a fully loaded SS with MRC and all the goodies will definitely be close if not over $50k

Well I dunno close.. I started at MSRP but perhaps had ~$1500 off with a GM credit card? So maybe MSRP was ~35k? That sounds really right but it has been 6years and paid in full for a long while..

Been a great car and worth every penny what ever I paid.. haha

A 50k SS is a bad idea...A GT350 starts at 52k and a Vette starts around 55k. I can see a 1le costing 50k but not a loaded SS. 50k territory opens up a new range of cars...That's a bad look for Chevy..

What is a 1le going to run, 55k ? Why wouldn't I just step up to the vette at that point? I realize we are talking about options driving up price but if you just look at it from a price perspective a loaded SS gets into grey territory at 50k.

I think we will see similar prices to the competition. The Corvette price increases arent a good point of comparison because the Vette really doesn't have comparable competition (if anything the competition is much more expensive). The pony/muscle car segment is highly competitive so hopefully we see prices that are inline with the Challenger and Mustang which have both been redesigned as well
