I've owned 2 GT Mustangs with sound tubes and had zero issues with the sound. The 2.3 EcoBoost MKC I bought my wife has an engine soundtrack in the sound system and it really sucks.

The MKC's system is different than the Mustang EB's? With the Mustang at least there is no recorded soundtrack, only noise cancelling frequencies for unwanted noise combined with broadcast frequencies that enhance what the engine actually makes.

I strongly believe this is a result of the creep of luxury into sport/muscle. I constantly hear people wanting to compare Camaros and Mustangs to BMW and Mercedes. And sadly, often to cars costing significantly more. Cross shopping an SS and an M3 is completely wrong to me. This cross shopping is the reason we have 4000 lb muscle cars. But to keep sales high enough to keep the bean counters away it has to happen. I get it, I just don't like it.

I agree 100% with this post. Just look to the number of people who complain about the Z/28 not being suited to daily driving because of lack of amenities. The only thing needed for a daily driver is a heater to keep the windshield clear. Everything else is for comfort or convenience. The funniest thing about it is that some of the same ones complaining about lack of features in the Z/28 are the same ones who will bark the loudest about not needing all the extras in the first place.

Mustang's have had the intake sound tube for years now. I don't see anything wrong with it. it's not "fake" sound. It doesn't change the way the engine sounds it just makes it louder in the car.
