And since the Camaro was supposed to compete directly with the Mustang, does that mean it's also a lady's car? Or were we late enough to the party to only target men?
Yep and so was the Cuda,Challenger and AMX. They were all called Pony Cars.

As I recall, the '64 and '65 Mustangs were pretty tame and modestly powered for the first few years....Hardly a muscle car at all when first introduced....

The styling the Mustang created or at least made popular....(the Pony Car) which basically had a long hood, two-doors, four passenger, and small trunk.....

Engine options (muscle type) became popular later on with the craze created by GTO.....

Just sayin' if Mustang marketed to women initially, it was probably a smart move at the time...

Ford took a Falcon and done a concept car which produced the Mustang.

I know because my buddy told me. Every time we talk cars, he ask me about my F'ed over Faclon......

My Mustang is no (longer) a Women's car, My wife has only ridden in it once..... Evidently she does not like 35mph rolls and roasting the tires.

Yea I think the largest engine in the Mustang was a 260ci V8 then Shelby got hold of it in 1966 and added the 289 and the rest is history.

By "designed" you mean the man drives and the woman holds on tight? [present female forum company not included]
