It's strange seeing a manufacturer plate/pre-production car crash on public roads. What was the driver thinking? What was GM thinking by allowing that car to run on a cold, wet day? The tires aren't made for weather like that and require careful driving in those conditions.

The designer of that "safety" cable must be the same guy that designed the original Lawn Jart game. What were they thinking and why is it still there! Dangerous as hell!

It's designed for the average vehicle.

I would say it did its job just fine. kept the idiot driving a track specialized car with summer only (really track tires) from going across into oncoming traffic and hitting and hurting (or killing) a person doing nothing wrong. Some of the new barriers do a better job protecting the idiot also but thats just a bonus I rather worry about the other people. Some believe while that style is not safer for the idiot. They are safer for everyone else, because the car usually stays in the cables and doesn't bounce off and head back out into the travel lane it was in like the new larger sturdier type do.
