There is a DOT scale a couple miles from my dealer. When I take delivery next week I will stop and weigh my car with nothing but a tank of gas. Scales in Oregon are always on with a digital readout you can see. Even when they are closed. PM me in a week or so and I will post the actual weight of 2SS.

thanks guys.
no hard feelings man.
reason im asking is im a weight guy.
if the 1 ss was 100 pounds lighter i would go with it. my 01 Z28 weighs in at 3085 with me in it. i ran a 10.70's in the 1/4 mile with a budget. so every 100 pounds is like adding horsepower.
i wish they made a version like my 01. roll up windows and no options but rear defrost, hurst shifter and monsoon stereo. lol
thank oyu to everyone. i will ber PMing you for the numebrs as well. thanks. Larry

Larry I think that weight is drastically overrated by a lot of people. In fact 100 lbs equals roughly only .1 in the quarter. so your 10.70 Z28 would only go 10.60 or 10.62 if it were a hundred pounds lighter. Not worth it IMO, as you can just get more power elsewhere without ripping out the neat goodies.

Question Actual Weight Differences SS cars

Curious what the actual weight difference are between 1SS strippers and full loaded 6sp manual cars and automatics.

I've already seen a loaded 6spd car tip the scales at over 4000 lbs raceweight. I'm guessing a loaded Auto would be heavier.

Anyone gathered that type of info yet?

I know of a 2SS with RS package, (Auto Trans) and painted wheels (no sun roof) that was approx. 3870 "curb weight" (so their paperwork from GM said).
