As for washing the car, maybe borrow a friend's hose at their house. The coin-op car washes is an option too. Just use the rinse option to water down the car, fill up your soap bucket, and rinse the car off.
Actually finding an out of the way spot is probably the worst thing you can do. If its out of the way and nobody can see what is going on you'll be the target of every vandal in the complex.

Does your complex have carports for rent? That's what I do with mine. I can see it from the apartment and it's protected from the elements.

I know what ya mean though. I'm going to be moving in the summer and am definitely looking for a townhouse/condo with a garage for the Camaro.

I've lived in a apartment since I've had my camaro. HALLELUJAH I like to think I have the perfect spot with my designated covered parking next to a no parking area. The other side is where my neighbor parks with a GT500 and my spot is directly outside my window. The only draw back is not being to hand wash at the apartment which sucks for me since they started doing construction on the street shortly after I moved in. I get my car washed and the next day it's dusty from construction or dust storms. You should be fine. The CAMARO is still a head turner so most people don't want to be the one to ding one. You should still be conscious of where you park though (people with kids, bad drivers). Only thing that happened to me was my car was towed twice in a 24 hr period, but that's another story for a different post.
