Already been to my #1 choice, Italy. Love to go back though.
Lived in England for a year and a half also. Not really interested in going back. Been to Cairo Egypt. Neat to visit once. Once. Spent 3 months in Saudi Arabia too. Definitely not interested in seeing that place again. So, if I had to choose at this point. 1. Alaska in June. Drive the Al-Can highway and spend the summer solstice above the arctic circle. 2. Caribbean Cruise 3. Visit an orphanage in Uganda. 3. Italy again, with a focus on northern Italy. 4. Jerusalem 5. Germany/Austria 6. Ireland 7. Japan 8. New Zealand - Australia 9. Greece 10. Amazon |

Some of you have mentioned some amazing places... and I agree with a lot of them...
Working Internationally, I've been to quite a few of the places mentioned, but didn't get to spend much time in most of them... Growing up, I always wanted to go to Egypt, see the pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, etc... Been there, OMG the Pyramids are way bigger than any picture can do justice... But, the Giza Plateau is no longer way over there... The City of Cairo is rapidly overtaking it... There is a city street within a hundred yards or so of the Big Pyramid. Beyond the tourist areas, the country is pretty badly run down, and it shows on the faces of most of the people I had contact with... Interesting tidbit I was unaware of... Approx 35% of the Egyptian Nationals are Christian... I have several really good life long friends there... Alaska, been there, seven days of nirvana... Absolutely loved it... Brazil, I'm there right now...I still want to go to the Amazon Basin, but... The amazing thing to me is how much we overlook or become jaded to the things around us... Prettiest area I've been in my whole life... The Great North West... Puget Sound, Bellingham, Blaine, Ferndale... Nooksak Falls, Deception Pass, Mt Baker... This was just one post card after another after another...To lean against a wall overlooking Puget Sound to the West of Bellingham, and watch the sunset over the water was OMG beautiful...I wish I could remember the name of the road... I'm sure someone will pipe in... Last Summer, my Trip in my Camaro to Gillette Wyoming... and from there to Cody, down to Rock Springs, over into Utah and the Red Rock Lake area, into Colorado on the Western Side... over the Million Dollar highway... South into New Mexico, White Sands National Park... wow, just wow... I still want to go to Moab... I worked offshore with a guy that invited me to his place in Franklin La. We had lunch and then he took me out in his pirot (boat) into the swamps... We drove and drove and drove and I had deliverance re-runs flashing through my mind... and we pop out in this little clearing, and there is a house barge, with a patio and a generator barge... Folks lived there ... in the middle of the swamp... I really think these folks were sheltered by more than distance and remote living. They thought I was the neatest thing since sliced bread... most of them claimed to have never spoken face to face with a Texan... Great Food, Greater People, and wow the beer we consumed... Sorry for the long memories... Original question... My Ideal Trip, and I will accomplish it some day... Fly into Perth Australia, get on a motorcycle and drive four or five thousand miles along the entire Southern Coastline to Sydney... then return across the outback, with a detour into Queensland... I have quite a few friends there and a standing invitation to stay with any of them.
