Since nobody knows anybody, or can do or say anything back (in the real world) people are much more likely to get stupid about things. Internet fights are quite famous for that very reason.
Now you can create your own site and get as stupid as you want... its free.

Camaro5 however... doesnt want that here because if they allow it.... that implies that they agree or condone the behavior.

what if I put up one of those digital picture frames in your front yard... but make its a 4'x4' frame... and on that lets display a continuous slideshow of gay porn, racist organization support photos, anti-america photos, pro-terrorist photos, and some anti-God photos.
I bet you would take that down in a heartbeat so that nobody would think you approved of the images displayed in your yard.

its the same situation here. Camaro5 doesnt want to "endorse", officially or implied, anything that goes against the ethical and moral standard that most of society has set for itself.


even though we do allow objectification of women. though many of our photo threads stay "somewhat" respectful and tatsefull... but its primarily guys here, and with that you have your "typical guy" hormone driven statements... fact of life.

I didn't see the posts that caused the thread to be deleted, but I did see some of your photos. Thank you for sharing them, and an even bigger thanks for your service over there.

As for the other type of threads mentioned earlier, this womans opinion is...

1) There are some beautiful and sexy women on C5. That they have the confidence and attitude to post their pics shows how beautiful and sexy they are on the inside too. Heck, if I was 20 years younger I'd join in! lol

2) Men like to look at and appreciate the beauty of the female form. Women like to have all that makes being a girl stuff appreciated. It's a great part of human nature that works.. best not to interfere with the ying and yang. Besides, the Mods (IMO) do a great job of making sure a pic doesn't cross the line. I've never seen anything stay posted that I considered offensive.

And lets not forget. This is a place to come and have fun. Off Topic on a Camaro site??? Makes perfect sense.

The rest of the forum is a place to come and have fun and learn and share ideas about a car we are all passionate about.

Politics is NOT fun. Only controversial.

Stovall, I think you should have got an explanation as to why it was closed, maybe you will get one. (As long as you were the one who started the thread)

We are not prudes here. But we do expect as smooth running site as possible.

I cannot explain the 'why' about the Afghanisan pictures thread, but I can give you the 'what'. It is currently 'moderated' which means that it is still there, but its only viewable to the moderators and administrators.

Now, KeepItGreasey there are a few things you need to understand about the site and how we run it.

This website, while viewable to the public, is privately owned and opperated. As such, the administrators have full control over what is allowable and what isn't. The main role of moderators is to get rid of anything that admin feels is inappropriate for the site. That could be anything from moving threads to more appropriate sections to banning members from the site.

So, in the examples mentioned here (women and politics) site rules #1 and #3 apply (respect and no politics).

For women, we remove pictures that we feel wouldn't be appropriate for our wives/girlfriends/mothers/daughters to see. Likewise, we also remove disrespectful comments. In the past, the threads have gotten out of control with members consistently ignoring public warnings and as a result, the entire thread got deleted (often accompanied by thank you's from the women of Camaro5). However, the 'girlie threads' have been going on longer and longer each time as our members have learned to control themselves better, which is exactly what our goal was.

Now, politics. We don't allow political debate. We tried it before the last US election and we thought it could work. We were mistaken. There was too much spillover, where a debate in one thread would get carried over and ruin an otherwise unrelated thread. Not good. Plus, it took a disproportionate amount of our effort to just try and keep it clean (rule #2: disagree, don't attack). In fact, it was so much that it took away from our ability to moderate the rest of the site. So, we canned the entire thing.

You could have missed something. Got deleted before you realized it had gone bad.

And politics are only entertaining to those who can keep it objective and respectful. Which is rare. Unless you consider it entertaining in a Cage Fight, WWE, MMA kind of way..... and in that case, ya, I agree, but it creates division. Sad but true.

You can say or post anything on the internet so long as it's your backyard your doing it in. Camaro5 is someonelese backyard, you are visiting ther home and must play by there rules.

That being said, you can rent a server for about 20 buck a months and start a site for soldier picture exchange..... Not to difficult. Then you could set the rules.
