I will never own an automatic if I can help it. That 10 speed is cool and all, but I can't imagine it being anywhere near as fun as a stick. No thanks.
edit - The auto is more expensive. In 2011, the 2SS auto had the gas tax, but the manual did not, if that's anything to go by. I really doubt any ZL1 will avoid it though, so I'd rather go for the more fun option. Also, thieves are dumb as **** and can't drive a stick. |

A10 ! New Electric cars getting out front quick between stop lights. Being a lazy driver... don't really feel like rowing though all the gears to keep up.
Hope the paddle shift controls get moved to the steering column. |

I'd love to try both if I get the car.. But I know my heart is set on 6 speed.. Yea the auto can be .8 seconds faster around a corner.
But lets be real... that 1 day at the track really going to make that much of a difference!? Plus, I can almost be sure the car will be smooth, but never as smooth as a manual with rev matching.. I hope i'm wrong though, would be awesome to drive this car and feel NOTHING, but smooth sailings. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the manual will definitely have the gas guzzler tax. I wonder if the A10 will have a gas guzzler's tax as well? Doesn't the A8 Hellcat have a gas guzzler's tax?

I believe the Z06 A8 has a gas guzzler tax. The M7 does not.

I think a manual zl1 will be darn close to as streetable as a manual Hellcat. Which is to say not good in the rain, from a stop on hills, gravel etc.

Manual 100% for me. A10 will be faster, could care less. It's the experience I'm after. 650HP is a LOT of power for a street car...pretty sure the manual will be p.r.e.t.t.y damn fast. I hate how autos always try to guess what gear you need, as in they don't know the light 1/8 mile up the road turned red so it will keep upshifting if accelerating...I can't stand that.

Would easily be the 10 speed auto for me. This car is light enough and will have enough power to appreciate the A10. My last engine was right at 700hp with a th 400 trans and 7300 rpms comes up before you know it but that is manually shifted. The current engine dyno'd at 900.7 at 6700 which required stronger parts. I couldn't imagine an oem clutch car at that power level, parts break too easily and require more time between gears.
The A 10 is the choice for me but I surely respect the choice of those who like to row the gears. |

It should be perfectly capable on the street. I've known '13 GT500 owners that been doing it for 4 years now without issues.

Slower M6 for me. Car will be a toy (not a daily) and I like to shift my toy. Kind of wish it had an M7 though.
A10 may prove to be a remarkable piece of engineering. I hope it sets a new bar for what can be done and doesn't have too many issues. Last edited by g3ngo; 05-28-2016 at 01:39 AM. |

zL1 will get the 7 speed eventually which kind of puts me off the m6. Every day I flip flop in what to get.
