I envy you but am still in the new phase with my 1LE.
My last 2SS was "used" with a whopping 4800 miles on it, but it always felt "used". I loved that car, but have already bonded with the new one, it's hard to explain.
I bought my last one, black/inferno 2SS without ever sitting in the seat or starting the car. I just KNEW that was the one I wanted.
First thing I did.. start car.. Kill engine.
It was always fun watching the service guys drive it in.. I'd razz them and say "Bet you 10 bucks you kill it the first time" I was right 99% of the time.

I have only crept past 800 miles and still look for any and every excuse to drive it.
Put my catch can on last night, and am teetering on the verge of pulling the trigger on the MGW flat stick short throw..

You have ordered your catch can haven't you??

You need to post pics for us tomorrow.... I can already see that grin that cannot be removed with a die grinder...

Whenever Ive ordered a new one, thats always been the instruction. I want to be the one unwrapping the car and if any of its gone before I take possession I dont want it. Im a detailer, and on a friends brand new 2013 1LE, that 1st dealer carwash before delivery put me through 35 hours of paint correction work working out all the random deep scratches and swirl marks.

Red Hot and Kalahari will be a great color combo. Goes without saying, but enjoy the hell out the car.

Ive been thinking about everything you are talking about for a while.

I'll be picking up in December. There is no way I'll be going through a 2-3 day process with washing, waxing, sealing in mid 30 degree temperatures. The car might get a quick wash from me a couple times but, no way I'll be doing anything intensive until March/April.

Should I just let the dealership do their initial detail or should I still request that they don't touch the car?

You do not under any circumstances want a dealer doing the initial detail. If they do, get your buffer ready.

Thank you. I'll instruct them of your exact instructions then.

So you unwrap the car at the dealer? Or do you take it off the windows only. Then drive it home to unwrap in your driveway?

There are usually some prep items the dealer has to perform...things like removing spring wedges, etc.

I'm really surprised a dealer could give you the car literally straight off the truck...with zero prep.
