FWIW If you pay cash and bring one in from out of state you can tell them whatever you want for the salesprice,just keep it within reason. The smog requirement is rediculous for a brand new car but as you know they love to hammer you here.

I can't remember what kind of documentation I had to provide. I thought I had to show the DMV the bill of sale from the dealership since it was a new car. I've also bought a used car out of state, and that seemed like it wasn't controlled so tightly.
