I was agreeing with you...had a guy ask me once what brembos were....he said your brakes say that...then I told him your car has them to. My point was people can buy these cars not really knowing what they are getting.

True - do some research on a car before you buy it.
However you have to start somewhere. Maybe OP has nobody to ask or show the ropes.
@ least op is not "acting" like he knows - I think that is worse -
Hope you do enjoy your car though.

Enjoy your car, do some research, get to know what it can do in stock mode, mod as needed. Camaro was my wife and I first V8. But we knew plenty of V8 gurus to show us the way.

PLease. My SS has an engine from a F15 under the hood and runs 3s in a 1/4.

Engines can be complicated, my 4 cylinder, '47 Farmall has an under bonnet, under head cam. My Camaro is a special order under twin head cam.

Seriously, until I saw what 'points' were, I had no idea what was needed for a tune up back in the day.

32V Northstar.. yeah yeah I know it's not a Chevy but LT5 was a Yamaha anyway.
Btw the Northstar had a big Engineering flaw in the short block threads for the head bolts and the head bolts pull out of the block, all of them blow a head gasket before too long and the fix is not worth the cost...it's not just a new gasket.

Dont act like you have not said some 'less than astute' things on here. Be careful when pointing fingers, unless you are perfect of course.

O.P. don't listen to these guys. They've been on here a while and thought what you asked was a basic question, when in actuality is a very good question.

Did you guys ever think that the O.P. went out and bought a 1LE cause of the rave reviews everywhere???

Other than the Challnger and Camaro, I think everyone else is Dual OHC on their V8s.

The LT5 came in the C4 Corvette ZR1. It had 4 cams and 32 valves. The design was done by Lotus and it was built by Mercury Marine. It produced a disappointing 375HP.
