Nice job! I’d say that’s pretty respectable for no tune, stock with a drag pack! The bottom of my stock airbox was cut out when I got it. Looking into it, seems like a common way to gain a touch. Might be worth looking into if you’re really trying to stay stock tune. I’d give you mine to try if you were closer.

I’m guessing Ted must of tuned your Camaro to help out the 60’ in some way. When I first saw your thread couple months ago, before I bought my car, I noticed your 60’ seemed lower than others. Oh, and I thought you were done going down the 1/4!!! Quote:
GM says 3681 for our LT1 cars. At one point I had my 01 SS at 3190 which is probably why it responded better than this car in changes to DA. Quote:
I usually go street nights on Wednesday. Not as many people. Went Friday instead and the lines were nuts. I believe NED is 90’ above sea level so naturally you’ll run faster there vs LVD. Quote:
I know you had Fbodies like me so you know what CAI and cooler IATs can do. I actually ordered a BIG MOUTH Ram Air Intake Snorkel by Velossa tech couple wks ago hoping to have it by last Friday night but it’s coming today. My old SSRA was good for .3 tops IIRC so I figure this snorkel should be good for .1 or so possibly. Shit, I may have to go back for another PB What I really want is a stall! How has yours been? Looks like you figured it out? How is it driving a stall with this A10 compared to our old F bodies?

Yes, his ecm tune with flex fuel helped with the 60' time IMO. My own experience with bolt-on mods was that with the stock SS tune and a pair of DRs, I was running mid-1.7 short times at best. Then with an ecm flex fuel tune (honestly just enabling the sensor at that time and not a full tune like lt4camaro got) I was able to run 1.67~1.69 on my best runs with the still-locked TCM. Finally I got the TCM unlocked and did some tcm tuning, and eventually I ran as low as 1.59 short times with my partial-bolt-on SS. Yes that was with the stock torque converter and stock gears.

Good times...the 6th gen is a stout platform even in stock form.
Imo the A10 is why you didn't see the gains that you expected. If somebody swapped a A10 into a 4th gen at 3100lbs, it would likely break into the high 10's with just a full bolt-on LS1. That trans basically makes similar power to a manual at the rear wheels, but never drops more than 600-800rpm on a shift. Where with a 4spd auto you need a 4k stall for that kind of shift extension and you are trading off 25% power for more torque multiplication to get the car moving.

Even considering the stock stall is 2500rpm that sounds good. Thanks that's really good info Do you go to Epping also? Quote:
Thanks King. Yes I do like this car. Just wish is was lighter from the factory. I do like this A10. Do you think a higher stall would screw up a good thing considering the shift extensions it already has? This is my old 01SS with a 4k Circle D. It would drop to about 5500rpm Quote:

Not surprised about that headwind number…it was noticeable for sure. I was bummed about not being able to hook because the DA was much better Friday than it usually is. Oh well, we’ll make some adjustments and get back after it.

Its too bad you could not hook up to use the great DA, I thought I saw you make a pass in the right lane and it sounded like your 1/8 mile was a clean pass, car sounds good, shifts sound good, car looks great.

Did you happen to get any decent runs in at all? I'm just curious. Must be tough hooking that monster up

Not really. I’m new to the 15” conversion so I’m figuring my tire pressures out plus I’ve got new double adjustable shocks that I’m dialing in the settings on. So I did a couple of 1/8 mile runs to try and figure my 60’ game out. Good news is I’ve been going over my results and setup with Kelly from Kelltrac and he’s been a big help. Hopefully have a better go of it next time out. But every time you make significant changes there’s a learning process to get it squared away.
