Mine use to run 14 all the time. About a month ago it started running about 13 on the dash. If I floor it will go right up to 14 until the rpm drops back down. I think I have a battery that’s on it’s last leg and isn’t taking a charge like it should. It’s pushing 3 years old and froze once. I will probably replace it next spring

Mine is 4.5 years old and I just bought a new one, having found a great deal, but the truth is my original battery still isn't doing too bad.
Most likely related is the fact that I kept it on good trickle chargers throughout winter periods and lately almost every time I don't drive the car for more than 2 weeks, which happens occasionally.

My battery voltage gets low from sitting too long parked , and occasionally the starter solenoid won't kick back out when I'm starting it up . I have to hit the start button again to release it.
After a few cycles and daily use its A-ok. |

The solenoid pull-off depends on a spring. I suppose it is also possible the circuit is not turning off power to the solenoid. Either way it is not battery. My first guess would be sticky solenoid. |

Happened so infrequent it was hard to pinpoint. Dealer down the street was no help in diagnosing and wouldn't replace parts without witnessing failure (of course it didn't fail during the service visit that time) Selling dealer 50 miles away looked at it the next week and got it to fail. Stated battery voltage had dropped enough for it to happen. Threw a charge on the battery and sent me on my way . Said it was a common glitch on other push button start GM products they had worked on. That was six months ago. So far so good . I'm probably jinxing myself replying to this post lol. |

Doubt this.
This is probably a momentary contact switch. Pushing it once just puts the computers into start mode. I would guess pushing it once the engine is running would just be ignored. The only other mode I know for this switch is to hold it in with no pedals depressed, and you can put the parked car into accessory mode. |
