$1,000 for noise and something that is likely to fail (expensively) after the warranty is up, that does not appeal to me. But if there is HP/TQ that comes with it, then I'd be interested.
It offers no performance advantage.

New Arrival

I just updated the initial post as a new 2SS Summit White Couple. Auto, Remote Start, NPP Exhaust, Red Calipers, and black appearance package. They do take GM Supplier, Employee Pricing, etc...

Interesting. Supposedly the NPP exhaust does offer a slight performance advantage on the C6 and C7 Corvettes. At least Chevy claimed that it does on those vehicles. Something like 5hp. Which isn't much. But one would think the results with a LT1 motor would be the same for the Camaro, although I've not seen anything from Chevy to confirm that.

Personally I like the NPP exhaust. Of my course my car being a 1LE it came equipped that way. A buddy of mine had a 2008 C6 that came with NPP. First time I saw that set up. I liked that you could control the volume of the exhaust with the flip of a switch. That's also a nice feature to have on the Camaro too. And overall I like the sound of the exhaust. I've usually got mine in Sport mode.

With it just taking a flick of a switch, I would think SOMEBODY would have tested it on a dyno! Make a pull, cool the motor & flick the switch, test the other way - compare results. This seems to be the best Camaro sight I've found, so astonishing to me that nobody has done this!

Pontiac had a similar system back in '70 or so, called VOE. Vacuum operated mufflers. With the crappy metallurgy of the time, those mufflers only lasted a few years and the factory quickly discontinued them. Some people may know of Tom Hand (son of Jim Hand, for Pontiac aficionados) - Tom is a bit of an exhaust system guru, and made some modern VOE mufflers a few years back.

I contacted Tom, as I was close to needing new mufflers, and asked about the performance of his VOE's. He said they were just for sounding cool at the drive-in, zero performance gain.

I do not have a Camaro, yet. Lifelong Firebird guy, but I REALLY appreciate the current Camaro and LT1. I've got a 2001 Formula hard top with 32k original miles, and seriously considering selling it. I also have a '73 Trans Am clone - I love the T/A, but it is starting to look like other people may think it is worth more than I do... so I may sell both of them and order a new Camaro.

The NPP was an option that I could not make up my mind about - but now I think I'll skip it.

Now I have to decide if I want a stripped down LT1, or accept that I'm getting old and need the creature comforts of the 2SS :-)

My thoughts about NPP is that I like that I can leave for work in the morning, or get home late in stealth mode, but then I can be loud and annoying when I want to be elsewhere. At least, that's what I'm imagining it being like. Need to actually get the car first

Because it isn't as simple as that. Dyno pulls are done at wide open throttle, and the car always opens the valves at WOT no matter what mode you're in (except stealth that you have to select manually in the settings) to protect its rear end from, hmm, this:

Yes, that's basically how it works. I usually drive in Touring mode through my neighborhood and then switch to Sport or Track outside of the neighborhood.
