Yes they do, but it starts at $91k. Zl1 is a bargain for sure.
https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-mo.../overview.html Also, SS 1LE is a great bargain as well. I was going to get the new BMW M2 which is similar in performance to the SS 1LE. But that build was going to be $68k versus $54k for the Camaro. I missed the V8 6MT of my old 2017 2SS and dropped the M2 for the 2SS 1LE that is in transit.

BMW traditionally tends to underrate the HP of its motors. And because most of them are turbocharged they are fairly easy to tune. My previous 135i had a Dinan Stage 2 tune and it was a real sleeper. And it only came with 300 hp from the factory. With the tune it was 380 hp and 416 lb ft of torque. I've seen folks with more aggressive tunes and bolt ons with 600 hp 135is. The newer BMW engines are even more powerful.

I have yet to see the new M2 at the track though, it will likely be as fast or maybe faster. |

The F80 felt disjointed to me in terms of handling. Tons of grip at the front and not enough at the rear, numb steering, and not enough compliance in the suspension. It has a nicer interior and overall quality of build so depends what you value.
I’ve read good things about the CS models and now the G80 but haven’t tried them myself. |

Its very easy to make the M2C faster just with wheels/tires and a basic OTS tune. SS1LE comes more optimized from the factory. Both are really fast cars that are indeed very comparable.

You need to buy a car that is $15-20k more expensive and then modify it on top of that to compare it to the SS1LE.... I don't see any world how that is comparable. Let me throw 15-20k at the SS1LE(and that's only to match the price of an M2C, not an M2C + mods). I've seen a heavily modified(Suspension, brakes, tune, wheels) + stripped M2C at CMP and the best time was a 1:42, still slower than an SS1LE. I also can't find any of them doing fast times at VIR on youtube. |

The front of the new M3/M4 is hideous. Amazing what people pay for those cars. If I was to spend 100K+ It would be a Porsche or z06...

Current M4 shits on the SS.
These days the SS is more of a M2 competitor. But hell, even the M240i is very close to the SS in terms of straight line speed and even price. I bet it has a better trunk and back seat too. |
