So for smog purposes, I'd have to flash the ECM back to the Magnuson tune...(hoping that they get CARB approved that is)....would that affect how the car runs and drives when it comes time for me to smog it?

California emissions law affecting our cars has been discussed here extensively, but it's not relevant to me. Looking at your mods I don't see any reason a good tuner couldn't pass emissions. Perhaps some CA guys can jump in here.

Radz28 is a 2020 or he would not have had to do the conversion from a T93.

Brian at Dinosaur Juice Tuning has been tuning my ECM and HHP T87a TCM for 4 months now, when weather allows. Perhaps the first lesson learned is that the 1st gear delete tune should be considered a strip-only tune, because it is very finicky. Otherwise, we haven't seen any oddities.

Oh, ok I was not sure if he was tuning a 2019 TCM. I am on the fence on this KingLT1, one of the forum members was disappointed with his 2020 LT1 T87A swap saying his tuner found very little adjustability especially for torque management between the shifts and the 1st gear WOT throttle getting it to 100%, not even sure if his tuner even knew about the less than 100 % throttle opening business. Its going to cost me $1500 for everything even though I have the HP tuner, which should include the tune, so yeah I am researching the hell out of this.

My understanding is similar to yours about valve bodies. It looks like Stangkiller figured out how to adapt an '19 and earlier VB to a 20-and newer with success. I'm not sure what functionality has or has not changed, but it runs.

The tune adjustments are exactly the same when the TCM is changed on 2020+ models.

T87A TCM swap on 2020+ cars
Thanks to all of you guys here on the Forum, I am starting to get my enthusiasm back on this subject.

It seems there aren't as many adjustments for A10s as A8s, but what is available is effective. It also seems what might be lacking between the two systems could be made-up-for with a little more ECM-adjustments, perhaps, like adjusting Minimum Spark values, for example. I'm still farting around on TCC-stuff, and seeing if I can understand some of that stuff, but in baby steps. It's kinda' fun, really.

Is the throttle held back in lower gears in a 22 SS a10 as well?
Radz28 you mentioned vtt and vve, are you saying that if you leave those stock it will play nicer with the oe TCM?

This is disheartening. I have a 21 ZL1 A10 and would like to hit the 1k HP mark. So I would need to tune the trans to make that happen no matter what?
