05 ram hemi, starting to rust, but always driven in winter in salt/snow. 107,000 miles, runs very strong, aside from needing it's tune up (that is suggested at 36,000, never happened) Some slight issues but never dropped a transmission like a certain GM 4L60E I know...

Just buy what you like and don't think about it to much, because as I've found out any freakin thing that is built by humans can and will break.I've owned many different makes and models and have only had a few that did well, and I only owned some for a short time so who knows what could've happened to the thing.I have a 2010 Silverado that gives me trouble starting if the gas is at a 1/4 tank or pointed down hill, and who knows whySo any truck or car can be junk,I continue to buy Chevy for financial reasons and I've had to lemon law one,but as long as chevy gives me the deals I want I'll keep buying them or GMC.

Cant vouch for the older Rams but i Love mine!
Had a bunch of older Chevy trucks back in the day (1993-2005) and had alot of issues, so other than the Camaro ive steered clear of chevy. But everybody is going to have their own wars stories with different vehicles so take any comments with a grain of salt! 2012 Ram Big Horn

I don't know about their quality but when it comes to diesel versions I hate being behind one or have one beside me at a stoplight. They all seem to blow out tons of black soot every time they accelerate. And being in a Convertible it chokes me to death. Ford diesels are almost as bad but I hardly ever see a Chevy do that.
That being said I do think the Ram is the best looking truck right now.

I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota with 3.7 magnum v-6 it has 112,000 miles on it and I have had zero problems with. I bought it brand new and it still rides and looks nice.

Why does just about every dodge or ford diesel I see do it then? Maybe they all don't but whenever I see black smoke from a pickup 9 out of 10 times it's a dodge or ford.

Same thing here too. It's young punk kids that mod their trucks to make them do it. Every stock diesel I have ridden in does not smoke. Some of the older ones are louder, but don't smoke. You take out a newer stock Ram, and you'll hardly tell it's diesel besides the amount of torque.

My dad has a 2013 Ram 1500 Express 4x4 shotbed, and it's a really nice truck. he traded his 2011 Chevy and likes the Ram much better... he's been a lifelong Chevy guy until this one, and to get him into a Dodge is saying something.
