I also replaced the included socket head allen bolt, used to attach the ZL1A plate to the post that goes in the tow hook hole, with a hex head bolt. This way I can use a wrench to get the plate on and off easily by reaching in behind with a ratcheting box wrench. Much easier than undoing all four bolts on the license plate to get an allen key through the hole in theZL1A plate to access the allen bolt. |

Over the years, I’ve tried just about every front license plate holder on the market - and built several of my own. I spent many hours trying to design one for my ‘18 SS 1LE, and none of my ideas worked as well as the Sto N Sho. It’s solid, never rattles, attaches to the Camaro’s OEM mounting points and is completely hidden when the plate is off. Since I live in a state where running without a front plate is a moving violation, the Sto N Sho was the best solution.

I got pulled over for not having it displayed in WA. I had it in the front window wedged in the corner on the passenger side. They didn't like that and just gave me a warning. I run the ZL1addons tow hook bracket now and it takes a minute to swap it out for track/autoX.

its only $25-50 in cali still but if they pull you over for that they normally try to get you for exhaust or tint or other dumb shit so i just keep one on my car and pull it off and put on towhook when i go to the track

adam carolla said it best...
what could be more dangerous. This is all over LA but if you have a car with no front license plate you need to be stopped

+1 for the Sto'n'Sho, it has different versions for standard and 1LE splitter equipped cars, plate removal is easy (some say too easy even...), and it seems to be pretty good quality, no rusting or bending or any other issue at all after almost 2 years.

Depending how you drive, may be worth keeping front plate, fewer things to be harassed about - fewer reason to pull you over as well. Not worth the headache either way.
Sto-n-show user. makes 650hp front plate friendly.

Took 3 tickets for me to finally put the front plate on my 1LE. It’s a state troopers favorite ticket to write.
