#2) I'm not Haole but, my Brother-in-law is along with his absent father. #3) I figure that commute would be bad. I've been in different cities like LA, Austin, San Antonio, San Francisco, and Seattle to name a few. Commuting is not much better. #4) I already planned on that. #5) I've already read about and seen that first hand as well. That's why I'm considering a Camaro. My daily driver now is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Long Bed and that will not be coming with me. It is easier to back up to any spot in that truck since the turning radius is not great. |

I don't know if they still do it, but turn off your headlights when stopped at a traffic light.

I don't believe they do that anymore. I know a lot of rentals their obviously had DRLs. My rental while there was a 2015 Mustang Convertible with the Ecoboost 2.3L 4cyl and automatic.

I didn't have too much issue driving through Waikiki and it got better the farther away I went from the typical "tourism" areas. Going out to the "Bayer Estates" was a pretty cool experience I'd have to admit.

That SE is a rare car. Don't see many SEs out there and less Mark VIIs in general. Use the air suspension and TEVES Braking System sent them to the scrapyard. The thing about these Lincolns are they are base on the good ole "Fox-Body" platform. So, some of the Mustang "goodies" will swap over like coil springs for example.

I hope to move out there relatively soon while I don't have any responsibilities. I figure do it now, or I'll probably have to wait until I'm retirement age.

Why Oahu? Maui & Kauai are a lot less commercialized and populated.

I'm born and raised on Oahu and I have never heard anyone compare it with Okinawa. LOL! Not even close. Hell man, population density alone is 60% higher on Oahu versus Okinawa.
Some things to understand: 1. Cost of living is ridiculous...just look at the real estate prices. 2. Traffic is a freakin' nightmare even on the weekend...hell even at 2:00 PM. You will live your life according to rush hour. 3. Being a haole can be a different experience for each haole...some acclimate VERY well to the culture but others just don't fit in. Most important is to be nice and treat others nicely. 4. Island Fever can be a problem...lots of people from the mainland can't get used to being stuck on an island. 5. Unless that Lincoln has some kind of sentimental value to you, sell it. Might even want to sell the Camaro too. Not a lot of opportunities to stretch its legs and there is no longer a race track on the island...best you can do is autocross at the stadium parking lot. All that being written, if I could make 2X what I make here or won the lottery, I would go home. Still have a condo there but am getting ready to sell it.

I would actually prefer those islands to Oahu just for that reason but, my understanding is it would be easier to start on Oahu first and then transfer to the other islands later if so desired.
