Yes I agree! The 14-15 Z28 wheels are the meanest looking wheels GM ever put on a vehicle! !!

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to have some other options too.

You may get someone with a 1LE to trade you. I would think they may even line up.

Not so sure about a line up, lots of guys agreed they found the ZL1 wheels too busy looking on a similar thread I started a while back without any big contingent of 1LE buyers mentioning they would like to trade.
I hate the wheels BTW, super overdone and way too busy to my eye without even mentioning they look like a PITA to clean and I'm not fond of washing cars. The only styling "hate" I have on this car. |

I thought that the 1LE and the ZL1 used the same tires, but the tread design looks different between the two. The zl1 has angled tread lines on the sidewall, and the 1LE rim has vertical tread lines. I wonder which is the new version that's coming?

Im getting sick of black wheels in general. They are the Cragar SS wheels from the 70's and 80's of the modern day.

I think they both look awesome and I'd be happy that they are both standard. I think on the SS, a $2000 option to get some nice wheels is a bit much.
Maybe i'll get a set of 1LE (assuming they fit) for winter.

Nope - ZL1 hit the streets in 2012 with the black 10 spokes as the standard wheel (and for all ZL1 years 2012-15). The polished 5 spoke wheels (like I have) were a $900 option. I suspect GM already planned to use the 10 spoke black rims for the '13 1LE, so that is why they were stamped with the Camaro lettering and not ZL1......but the ZL1 wore them first, a full year before the 1LE was introduced. . |

As for the wheels, I like em both! I also like that different models receive their own wheels for better distinction. I wouldn't want my higher priced ZL1 confused with a 1LE. Yes there are other modifications to tell the difference, but the wheels are a quick/easy look to tell. Anyone who orders either car always has an optional wheel available. See the Chevrolet Parts dept and order which ever Camaro wheels you like. You might even be able to open the Performance Parts or Accessories catalog and find another set of wheels. Im sure a dealer will be willing to work with you if you want to order a different set of wheels and have em installed. If they get to keep em, they might be able to make some decent coin on em through the parts dept. Also, you could just sell em and offset the cost of the wheels you want. |
