Michelin PS4s is a good daily driver choice

I just bought a set of the PS4s last month from discounttire.com and had them installed at a local performance shop in Riviera Beach, FL. I stayed with the OEM size 305/30R20 rear and 285/30R20 front The GY S3 hydroplaned and trammeled since day one and could not go over 40mph in South Florida rain. I pretty much daily drive my 1LE and hydroplaning was a constant issue. In the dry the GY S3 were amazing, handling was phenomenal but took time to warm up, i was able to get just over 13k. If you are going to daily drive, cant beat the Michelin PS4s; quick to grip-little warm up time, no trammeling, hydroplaning and 60-80mph in rain confidently with absolutely no problems. BTW price is $100 cheaper at discounttire.com and there is a $70 rebate on a set of four tires.

Yep. Changed out a month ago after asking suggestions here. HUGE difference, much better grip and performance imo. Colder weather and damp roads no issue unlike the GY that came on the car.
Weather in Texas this time of year is all over the place and I can tell you that on a warmer dry day these things handled like a dream at high speed and corners.
High speed being 65mph of course! I wouldn't break the law or anything.

I need to swap soon. After 6k, my front tires are worn and the rears aren't much better. Will do the Michelin's this time around.

tagged...I have no idea what to do for the next set of rubber. I'm only at 3500 miles but intrigued on where to go the next round.

I'm not in the know on these HP tires but felt the stock GY's were fantastic when I first got the car during our normal 80-100+ degree weather. Now I live in likely the hottest climate of 95% of the people here & really should focus on this as my priority for the next tire purchase exclusively. Maybe the GY's are the way to stay, but can certainly understand what many of you are saying.

When it is even slightly cooler for our short mild winters & am talking 50-70 it is amazing how different this car behaves & was almost thinking the tires were per-worn until I realized from other posts, it's the norm. I'm gonna have to follow back up on this during summer to see what you guys feel is ultimately the better all around for a warmer / dominant climate. Our winters are so short & don't drive the Z much as my time is spent at the ranch hunting.

Honestly, I really don't know how you guys do true cold...I do like the idea of a better & quicker bite on the 'street', but only if you guys are seeing improved benefits over the GY in the heat as well.

Changed out the GY’s after a line lock burnout on the OEMs. I love the PS4s

Cup2 are bull shit
Except if you want to loose time to warm them
They are slow to warm, probably excellent to race when they are warm !
But for daily use, they will stay cold and scary...

Take PS4 they are the best (grip, confort..)
I will switch to PS4 as soon as my stock are done

So, I live in NH and agree the Stock tires are great on a hot day warmed up, but they are not great in the rain and are very slick during cooler weather, also they are only rated to 40 degrees and that limits my driving in the spring and fall. Based on what I’m reading the PS4S sounds like a better fit. How are they on a hot day warmed up? Are they noticeably less sticky? Are they ok to drive on below 40? Has anyone hit the drags with them?

The limit of 40 degrees applies to all summer tires, not just the OEM tires.

It was. Late at night, after work in the parking lot... It was the first time, I was following the steps, got to the final step and hit the gas... killed the parking lot and just figured I did a little damage to the tires. Then started sliding a bit on streets when cornering... Drove the car in the rain, and almost lost control (like a Mustang)

Had the tires put on the next day. Great upgrade from stock. Less road noise, better wet traction and similar dry traction. All around better tires than the OEM's, better tires than the Michelin Super Sports , and for less money. Go figure
