Check engine light should not illuminate unless you try to start the car with the MAF sensor unplugged.

You have to push the tube down in order to push the clip up, and to the left. Once you do that, the tube should be uncliped and come right off pulling up.

Notice how the gap goes from the top in the first picture, to the bottom. That gives you the room to push the clip up and to the side

Thank you so much! However mine looks different than yours. I've attached a picture. It looks the same on the back.

However, maybe it is the same process just that your clip is exposed?

Just checked mine. It's just like yours. 2017's seem to have a different fitting. It does look like it should push down and twist off. Great talk here though. Once you figure this out it will be of great help to many. Hang in there the answer will come.

Unfortunately, there are so few reviews, instructionals, videos period of the 2017 2.0. I think this weekend I am going to try and do a review all around, of my car, and hopefully (fingers crossed) an instructional for removing and installing the CAI.

Will keep posted. If anyone else has any insight as to how i get this godforsaken ventilation tube off, please help!

Just came to me. The hole on the fitting. Looks like you stick like a small screwdriver there and gently push. That may release a tab so you can pull up?

I tried. Felt like it was going to break. This past Saturday, i took the stock intake out in about 3 minutes and had the Injen one all set to go. tried for about a half hour to finagle that clip off. I searched the depths of the internet and found nothing. I just don't want to break the piece. I tried a tandem "clip-push-in with my father and it was not budging. I think it may be: push down, twist and pull off because if you look inside the clip, there is a vertical groove which im sure is not there for aesthetics.

Yep, I agree. I just tried to push the tab and it is not budging. Now we just need to figure out the trick of this push and twist fitting.

I tried to find a contact on Injen's website and couldnt find anything. Im tempted to call GM? I would refrain from giving them my VIN because of warranty issues but they seem like the only ones with an answer.

Autozone was a total waste of my time. The guy was like "umm yeah i dont know try googling it, sorry man".......................

Anyways, don't break anything but keep trying and let me know if you figure anything out, i wanna get this CAI in ASASP
