Confusing, but kinda got the idea. Must be a difference between MRC , mine I'm happy with , hopefully 1 of your allocation comes thru. And the most important thing about this post and situation you have , is your Dad , enjoy him , my Dad was a car guy , we did a lot together, I miss that .
Happy Motoring

As far as the bump steer comment.....It's not really bumpsteer, but it feels like it.
I believe the way GM attaches the anti roll bars to the car is playing a part in the perceived bump steer. The mounts are actually glued to the bar in effect adding a tiny bit of rate to the overall bar. But because of where the mounts are glued to the bar, this limits the working length of the bar. The bigger (stiffer) the bar the worse it is. Not so evident on smooth roads but get bumpy or roads with ruts, then the bumpsteer feeling comes out. I noticed bump steer on my SS 1LE. I measured the suspension bump steer and it is very minimal, within acceptable specs. After seeing others comment about this, I believe the OE bars are causing this feeling. Once an owner goes with an aftermarket bar that has a poly mounting bushing (which allows the bar to move freely), other have stated the bump steer feeling has disappeared.

This! OP's love was for the feel of the fe4 hard parts before calibration. It's the MR calibration that stripped him of his drivers nervana.

Loved how it felt inbetween fe4 upgrade and mrc recal. That time span was 2 weeks.

I said I'm not refined.
I didn't say I was trashy.

The prior 4 years or 5 years that I've owned this vehicle it's behaved like a regular 2ss and that's been acceptable but as I've grown as a driver it's become less acceptable hence the need for upgraded parts.

Per post title, OP’s obviously experiencing a lubrication issue.

You said not to mention getting a ZLE but you’ll never get the race car feel unless you buy a ZLE. I test drove a ZL1 and it was a great car but it reminded of a heavy 1995 Cadillac boat compared to the ZLE. Not much you can do about it so either just accept it or get a ZLE. Good luck
