Nice numbers man. I currently have a LT2 intake manifold, ZR1 95mm throttle body, rotofab cold air intake, speed engineering 2 inch long tubes with their 3 inch catback connected to the stock muffler and E85. Also has almost the entire bmr suspension catalog. Running 305s on rear and 245s on front. My car dyno’d at 450 Rwhp and 480 torques, when you get long tubes your torque should go back up. Every dyno and every engine are different so don’t take these numbers too serious, the way the car performs is what counts. Smiles per gallon. |

Thanks and well stated. I've enjoyed having an affordable shop with a dyno close to home so I can get some pulls done between mods. While it's always tempting to look at the final numbers, seeing the changes between mods is honestly a better use of the dyno.
And to the other post about a ported intake, I've heard a few things. A few folks have said porting an LT2 takes away too much material and makes the "neck" of the intake too thin. That said, plenty of people do it. Ultimately, I bought the MSD intake simply because I liked the look of it better than the LT2 with a Corvette cover on it. My MSD is not ported, and given my 95mm throttle body and relatively basic modification plans, I didn't see the value in porting. That was just my personal conclusion based on my research. |

And just to continue the thread about my modification plans, I went ahead and purchased the DSX Flex Fuel kit.
Here in my area I've got E close to home. It's currently $2.79/gal vs $3.99/gal for 93. My NA SS 1LE can handle straight E from the pump with no mixing, and I'm probably going to pick up 20-30hp. It was a no brainer for me! When everything is installed, tuned, and dyno'd in the next week or so, I'll be sure to update this thread with the numbers. |

Anyone do a stock dyno? Curious how much of an increase bolt ons are compared to stock.
I’m considering rotofab, 95TB, IM (not sure which one yet), and of course a tune. Maryland has 3-4 E85 stations so that’s lower on the list luckily one is about 20 minutes from me. |

Did you do a fully stock dyno pull prior to the CAI and Corsa NPP to know if they netted any power gain ? |

I also think RideWithDanger is pretty spot on that bolt-ons and tune are probably good for 40-60hp. |

Are you M6 or A10 ? I know M6 cars dyno 15-20hp more than the A10 when stock. |

Summary, the MSD intake manifold alone gained 17.48 hp and 10.15 lb/ft over stock, and the MSD intake manifold plus the 95mm throttle body gained 25.90 hp and 15.80 lb/ft over stock in their tests. Jannetty posted an SS test years back, but the graphs don't work anymore. From what I recall, his gained 16 hp with the MSD intake manifold, and the Rotofab CAI gained 6 hp for him. |

I lost torque with my mods, but was under the impression that HP and torque might be a bit of a trade-off for one another depending on your modifications. My results seemed to confirm what I had read about that. As someone else mentioned, I might be able to regain my torque if I added headers.

Gotta say I did jump on the MSD/95mm TB talked about in wnta1ss's old thread. Non-ported MSD and unported 95mm. No tune. Car continued to run very strong without adverse effect. My seat of the pants dyno said Tick wasn't blowing smoke (and hey, if "oldman" sez it works...).

As far as the hp vs torque trade-off, with your current mods, I would indeed expect a larger gain in hp than in torque, such as the thread that I'd linked shows, but I don't believe that you actually lost 25 lb/ft of torque from the MSD/95/tune. To me, those torque numbers point to a problem with the test equipment. Which sucks, since you are doing it right by attempting to track these mods on the same dyno. |
