This is the only one I would ever use, Lingenfelter has been doing this for 45+ years.

I want some chop. The stock cam is a bit lumpy especially cold....

I was for a long time going do a drop in cam just to show everyone it could be done in a day. The issues I've run into is that given any reasonable spring the DOD lifters are just iffy at best. Literally every DoD cam vendor has something negative to say about the other vendors, for me, outsider, customer only, I don't think it is a cam / shop / grinder issue. It is that DoD lifters are iffy stock and anymore is asking too much IMO of course.
So I went to pull the heads to change to LS7 lifters..... no worries now.

I've heard of more ppl regretting they didn't go bigger vs wishing they went smaller..
I think most get used to the buck of the larger-short lsa-heavy overlap cams. Also any good tuner can tame the car for puttering around town. I have no problems pushing mine through the occasional parking lots & speedbumps I think the lopey exhaust note is the only real consideration you have to make. Just my .02

with a narrow LSA, one can have a loopy duppy idle and a strong, as in stronger than stock midrange. Keep say 20 degree phaser too, install straight up.
Also the non-DoD cam can for any duration just lift the valves faster / down faster. It would be easy to design say a 212 / 220 114 LSA .600 lift cam the could be completely streetable near stock in pull, but with significant more mid range power and 200 to 400 RPM or so on the top too. There are lots of compromise for DoD that a fast ramp .600 lift street cam does not have to deal with, one is overlap for emissions, two is the ramps for lifting, three is the overall lift.

We should start a new thread with just cams/vids... post up the cam card or specs. To help potential people on the fence to doing a cam swap. If any, would be a nice change of pace from the endless threads of catback/axleback exhaust sounds connoisseur threads
