Boostane runs sales all the time. I just got another 5gal can as they had a 25% off sale for Labor day.

Yeah. I think based on a 19 gal gas tank, it was just a little over 3 oz to bring it from 93 to 96 octane. Super cheap money to get that level of gain IMO, as you’d get 10 doses from a regular 32 oz can of Boostane. But they have a free app that lets you quickly determine the dosage.

I would never run octane booster in any engine, certainly not this engine

From what I understand, any additive, like these mentioned, has to have MMT to be effective. And for those that do have this metal, there is a good chance at emissions components (e.g. sensors and cats' and spark plugs) will have shorter lives because of the deposits it leaves on them. If these aren't a concern for your car, then no biggie. And while, apparently, there is no solid evidence (according to some branding of these additives) that these parts will definitely have reduced lives, I think it's something the user should know about. That soot is result of these kinds of products.
Boostane, if I recall, claims some fuel-conditioning-type properties, which I like, because I don't drive my car all the time. I've used Racegas in another car, and it seems okay (which I don't say like that because I didn't use it to race, rather to test my timing advance/retard). I have a can of Racegas and a couple of Boostane that I will probably continuously use just to keep safe when I'm done with my tuning. It seems like a worthwhile alternative to keep things safe, IMO.

Torco isn't a octane booster...it's a race fuel concentrate. It's only going to cause a potential issue with sensors if you ran it everyday. It's not economical to run everyday as is MS109 or any race fuel for that matter. chances are anybody looking at this option is only going to use it on Track days so it won't be a issue. I have and know others who have run Torco for years with no issues.

Would a car running a flex fuel tune running straight E85 (obvious pump variant %), benefit from mixing with 100 octane unleaded race fuel or race fuel concentrate? And, for those running Cat-less, would 100 octane leaded be better than 100 octane un-leaded race fuel?

You can run leaded, but it will ruin the O2 sensors eventually. I mix 1 gal Xylene per 10 gal of gasoline. Xylene is a component of gasoline. That will pull your base octane up by 2 points. (91-->93 or 93-->95)

So say a round number of 70% E85? Quote:
