As someone who spent a lot of time trying to make that work, it's not easy, even for someone willing to strip an entire car for acoustical treatment and install a $500 pair of 6x9s back there. For one, even if you install the adapter on the top to align screw holes - one of the holes is blocked by the rear deck. And second, the metal itself prohibits direct mounting. One could fabricate a mount for underneath, that effort would likely suck as it won't be flat and has to conform to awkward undulations, and then sacrifice that height in the trunk.

I've gotta look at mounting my amp to the rear deck like that. Would save a little room over having it sitting on the floor.

By using the previously mentioned amp, could you replace the 2 ohm stocks with standard 4 ohm speakers (assuming you could mount them)?

In general the rear speakers are to be for rear fill and not really noticed.
I believe they are difficult to get to as well. There are You Tube videos on upgrading. |

I have done this in my previous car and I cut a hole in what would normally be the bottom plate of the amp and mounted a computer hard drive cooling fan to cool the unit. I think the HDD fans were designed for 5 V. There are typically 2 little fans on the unit, so wire them in series and pull 12V from the amp's switched power. |

Would lc-4.800 work for this situation? To amplify all 4 rear speakers?
