I bought it from Barnard Chevy in Churchville, NY, which is where I'm trying to get it serviced.
I just called them, and they told me they're to the point where they would have to tear down the engine. They don't know what's wrong with it, and he's telling me my drivetrain warranty ended two months ago in June, even though I'm under the 100k miles. I bought the car in April 2011 as a Certified Pre-Owned, so I thought I had 5 years/100k for drivetrain. If the warranty doesn't cover it, it'll be at least a four figure repair. But this seems like exactly what the warranty is supposed to cover, and I previously had it to a dealer for these symptoms before the warranty expired. I'm becoming more upset the further this goes on. |

If it's not under warranty, and the repair is major...if it were ME, I'd have it taken out of the dealership (where they charge three times the industry standard for hours, parts, parking fees, Fetzer Valve aging, and so forth) and have an independent shop look at it. You'll get a very- important second opinion ("Oh, hey, lookit this disconnected vacuum hose!") , and you will get the same work done for 1/3 the price... and the independent shop might even give you a call every now and then to update you on progress!
